I just wonder if they're as high on him as a possible QB as Payton was. If not, can they use him like Payton did in that joker role?

The guy is an athlete. idk. Make him a TE or a RB or something if he's not gonna be a QB. Lol.

I'm sure he'll see the field one way or another. No way they're gonna pay him that coin to sit the bench and be a #2 QB.

I turn him into a TE, not durable enough for a rb. He might surprize at TE.

Kinda undersized to play the position ... specifically his weight.

6'2 230 4.56 speed, beef him up 10-15 lbs. and he's nightmare. Able to truck most cb's and S,with his speed lb's have a mismatch all game long. Decent enough hands and willing to block, not much downfall especially with what we have at TE right now.

Yes! Also consider that most of his contract cost is married to what he does at QB via specific incentives. He is not that expensive playing TE or any other position as long as he produces as he has shown those areas to date.

Oh he could pull a Jimmy Graham and leverage the NFLPA to renegotiate his contract, eh speedo?

That’s not exactly true. His cap hit every year is around $12 million without the incentives. That gives him the 5th highest cap hit in the league for TE’s this year and 6th highest next year.

His "projected" cap hit is that figure, Chris. He has a $9 million roster bonus this year which will be converted to a signing bonus. Prorating that over the remainder of his contract at $2.25 million per year puts his cap hit this year at $5 million, not $12 million. That includes his $1.1 million base salary and his existing signing bonus proration.

You must always factor in the restructures that Loomis and Harley put into place in the contracts.

He also has a $9.9 million base salary next season that will be converted and prorated as well. Roster bonuses and base salaries can be converted and prorated without any negotiation.

Yep - right on time. What's your source this time speedo?

NFL Contracts for dummies?

He posted it so fast he had to go back and make multiple edits, which confirms all he's doing is a nice google search followed by some re-wording so he can tell himself how smart he is.
