Something else people are missing is what went through Jameis Winston's head on 22 November 2021..

"***k New Orleans"

Wouldn't you think the same thing? After all, New Orleans gave Winston two single year ****ty deals then gave Taysom Hill a 4 year cow.

If Loomis or Allen called me my reply would be ***k you, ***k your lack of faith and loyalty. I will make my own gumbo in Pittsburgh or maybe Indianapolis.

Just curious Oak, you earlier asked for reasons why Winston would want to come back here. Rez and I gave you several. Did you have any thoughts on those ?

As for the scenario you describe I don’t see why Winston would be pissed. He wouldn’t have come back for second time if he had hard feelings. He was clearly awarded the starting job and would certainly have been rewarded with a new contract had he not been cheap shotted by the bucks. I guess I must have missed it if he was upset and said “F New Orleans”.

I was thinking about this the other day. Hill desperately wants to be a QB and after the injury I wonder how willing he is going to be to risk injury playing the joker roll. I think he may come out of this with a higher sense of mortality when it comes to the longevity of his career.

I agree with this 100%. People are all arguing about bringing him back and nobody seems to realize it’s up to him. When Payton finally named him as the starter he kept Winston handcuffed most of the time because he wanted to limit turnovers.
I doubt he would have tried to run through all those defenders if Payton hadn’t had him on such a short leash. Hell he doesn’t even have the support of the fans here. I really don’t see anything about our organization that is more attractive than Pittsburgh.

He got paid already. Not sure it really matters. We have seen enough of his decision making, haven't we?

Before Payton left I thought the Saints would likely remain JW preferred destination, but that may no longer be the case, so we'll see what happens.

March 16th ….it gets real around the league.

The majority of Saints fans want Winston to return. I think he's the best option out there and that includes Garappolo, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Watson and the draft.

Not that I’m saying I want them to do it, but Winston could get franchise tagged should the team wish I believe.

That may give the team a bit of incentive/leverage in their path forward.

I'm seeing the same thing on Saints Twitter, iceshack. The vast majority want Winston back.

Got any scientific evidence of that, or are you just relying on twitter? What the vast majority wants is to win.

Twitter is group think little speedo. Did you take even an 098 on that at LSU-S?

Clearly not.

Wouldn't that cost the Saints upwards of 27+M or so?

I believe if there is any "tag" placed on any Saints player in 2022, it'll be Marcus W. I'm willing to bet the consensus / decision makers on Airline Drive don't want him or his agent to hit the free market next month.

We shall see :bng:.
