Why Jameis Winston is STILL Saints best QB option

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I’m slightly annoyed we haven’t signed Jameis. Especially with all these Jimmy G rumors circulating....

They may have to wait until after the restructures are finished. Perhaps they have something worked out but not shared with the league office yet. They have to be at the cap figure by the 16th, Wednesday.

Maybe they are in the "mix" for D Watson

There's always Kaepernick. He's says he's primed and ready.

Wow! Vegas now has Winston as odds on favorite at -110 as signing with the Saints. +220 was the best I'd seen until today. I wonder if they know something all of the sudden.

It's the fact that the teams he may have gone have filled the position.

This. Kinda have to wonder why. I thought he would be on the top of most teams list.

Idk. Maybe he didn't really wow anyone last year. He had a good TD vs Int ratio (14 - 3). But he averaged just over 160 yards per game and only eclipsed 250 yards once while completing less than 60% of his passes in 7 games.

I know our receivers sucked. So there's that.

Just food for thought is all.

He didn't. I'm not convinced it was all his fault - in fact with our oline and lack of WRs and Sean's clear handcuffing Jameis was playing seriously reserved.

But the numbers weren't good offensively.
