this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; With only 3 preseason games you have to play as many guys as you can. I don't put too much into it....

Re: Observations from the Saints preseason loss to the Texans
They should get more out of the two days of practice with the Packers this week than all three preseason games put together. At least that's what I have heard coaches and GM's say here recently.

Re: Observations from the Saints preseason loss to the Texans
How can this be true and the following also be true? From NFL.com 52) Saints first round pick Trevor Penning didn't start the preseason opener and then had the lowest PFF pass-blocking grade on the team, giving up a sack, a QB hit and three pressures with a penalty in 26 passing downs. Penning's competition at left tackle, James Hurst, played six snaps alongside the rest of the starters. https://www.nfl.com/news/2022-nfl-pr...es-position-ba |

Only one pre season game in the books but Penning needs all the reps he can get. I was glad Dougie M played him most of the game.
It will take some time before he takes the starting LT spot away from Hurst. |

Tony Jones is the #3......at this stage might be a r
Tougher running than Mark Ingram (even though how much I love him). Trequan needs to be released now. I'm still hoping for book, but he doesn't look good. |
