Murray evidently knows the business and used the last game as springboard, I can't really fault him. He was better than Ingram and was never really compensated accordingly.
It was really a matter of timing. Had the Broncos not lost their RB1 to a season ending injury on Sunday, Murray would have likely still been on the Saints practice squad. Murray would have been foolish to turn down any Denver offer since he could make far more than the Saints could offer him as a backup to Kamara. As it was he did turn down an offer from the Saints to leave. I'm curious as to what his contract is going to look like. Denver has among the most cap space available in the league.

Don't forget any team in the league could have signed him last week. He wasn't even looked at by the other 31 teams as a backup until AFTER the Saints picked him up.

So, what’s your point? He’s on to another team, and your still trying create a discussion that’s moot…….

Negative. He wasn't looked at until he performed.

My point is that the discussion was moot. Murray made a decision to go to the Broncos. Any discussion over what the Saints did or didn't do doesn't matter.

This is true. Had he stunk it up he wouldn't have been looked at.

Re: Broncos sign Murray off the practice squad

2 weeks ago the the Saints were the only team to have brought him in for a workout … the only team.

How can you sign him to a 3 year contract to be at best a number 2 running back. Raving because LM had 57 yds on 11 Carries. Mark at 10 Carrie’s for 58 yds last week and yeah he did fumble again but Mark has never fumble more once in any of his previous season.

Again with the rules in place other teams had the ability to sign a guy elevated from practice up until Tuesday at 3:00 PM central time. In the end LM choose the best deal for him personally …

Re: Broncos sign Murray off the practice squad

If Murray chose the Broncos over us, the discussion of why we didn't want him is moot, but the discussion of why he didn't want us is not moot. We need to appeal to good free agents not be the last resort. If a player who is already on our practice squad and knows our system and knows we were the only team to give him a chance this year does not want to play for us that says something. Perhaps Dennis Allen is not an inspiring leader, and what players hear about Hackett in the national media is more positive. Perhaps Loomis' mismanagement of our salary cap makes us an unappealing destination as we are liable to cut or fail to retain a player to save pennies even if they do well. Perhaps our failure to reward performers and loyalty to justifying costly underperformers makes us unappealing to highly motivated players who feel they never got their due. Murray didn't want to sit behind Ingram. CGJ didn't want to make less money than Peat and Hill. Thats understandable. Time to stop coddling the Ingrams, Hills, and Peats. Coddle the CDJs, coddle the Murrays, coddle the healthy performers.
