I like the idea of Cam Akers and Nick Boyle. Bring in another RB and a TE who can block.

Akers is done. Waste of a roster space.

At the age of 23? I'm no accountant however he wouldn't cost (conditional pick at best) a whole lot & we don't have much behind Kamara.

IMO Mark is running on fumes. Not a lot of productivity anymore & he's fumbling. Akers could lighten up the load & get a lot more touches than what he's getting out in LA.

Not to mention AK still has legal issues.

And I agree with the others, we could really use more DLine/pass rush help. We'll see.

He tore his Achilles in preseason last year. He came back in record time before the end of the season last year, and looked horrible then and in his limited play this season. I doubt the Rams find a trading partner, and wouldn't be surprised if he ever plays a meaningful down in the NFL again. I guess we'll have to see how it plays out.

Yup. He's started seven games over his two and a half year career. He's averaged under three yards per carry over the past two seasons. He had a promising start in the second half of 2020 and the playoffs, but hasn't done anything of note since then. It not looking real promising.

Wow. But is it Cam or McVay? Rushed back to play perhaps?

If I had a choice, I'd take a flyer on a player a decade younger than Ingram. For a 6th or 7th round pick ? ... I would.

At the end of the day, I'm just a couch coach so what the hell do I know .

They let far too many impact players walk in the defensive backfield and it shows.

When Mathieu's version of a ball hawk is just standing nowhere near a receiver and watching passes fly all over the field and then being too afraid to tackle, no wonder the D line doesn't have enough time to generate pressure.

Re: Let's Talk Trade Deadline

Saints Players Most Likely to be Traded

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 1 at 4pm. Mid-season trades in the NFL aren't nearly as common as in the other professional sports leagues, but have happened with more frequency in recent years. The Carolina Panthers have recently dealt RB Christian McCaffrey and WR Robbie Anderson and are reportedly listening to other offers.
Carolina is in the midst of a complete rebuild, while the New Orleans Saints are not. So we shouldn't expect the Saints to deal away any of their top-tier players who are under contract for multiple seasons. New Orleans, behind General Manager Mickey Loomis and backed by ownership, are typically one of the more aggressive teams in the league.
At 2-5, we also shouldn't expect the Saints to be looking to acquire players for a playoff run. Despite a disappointing start, the team still has as much talent as anyone. However, they also lack draft capital over the next two years. There are already unfounded rumors of a possible trade involving RB Alvin Kamara or DE Cameron Jordan.

The Saints have a an opportunity to win the impotent NFL South so I think that they should be looking for help rather than getting rid of key players for future draft picks that may or may not be good players in the NFL.
