Also, do you think the rest of the league is blind? Who out there do you think will trade a first round pick for Thomas when he's barely been on the field for 3 years and unfortunately doesn't look like he can remain healthy. I can understand being disappointed in MT13's availability. But folks who want to get rid of him have completely unrealistic expectations. If the Saints are going to move MT13, it would be after June 1, 2023 when the contract shifts from the bonus money dominating to the in season salary dominating and the team can split the remaining dead cap across two years. And no one is going to give up a first round pick for him. SFIAH |

Re: Let's Talk Trade Deadline
I'm tired of seeing it. We get it...some of y'all don't like Michael Thomas. It's around $10.5 million in dead money to move him this year. He's barely played. His stock his down. We wouldn't even get the value we desire. There are no great trade pieces on this team right now. Let him get healthy and let's see if we can make a playoff push. If it doesn't work out we can restructure his contract and trade him during the draft so the dead money isn't as bad.

If he's unwilling to negotiate that, then the Saints will trade him after June 1st for whatever they can get and take the $25 million cap hit over 2023 and 2024.
But until then, the player isn't going anywhere. All we can hope is that he gets healthy and can be productive down the stretch. SFIAH |

Re: Let's Talk Trade Deadline
Dolphins acquired EDGE Bradley Chubb and a 2025 fifth-round pick from the Broncos in exchange for RB Chase Edmonds, a 2024 fourth-round pick, and San Francisco's 2023 first-round pick.
The Dolphins certainly are going for it, as they've signaled since the Tyreek Hill trade. Chubb will give them another devastating option off the EDGE, and heading into the final year of his rookie contract Adam Schefter reports that Chubb will sign a long-term extension with the Dolphins. Miami has roughly $18 million in free cap space for 2023 per Over The Cap, so they'll likely have to do some re-negotiations to tie all this together. But in the short-term, it's a huge acquisition for the Dolphins' chances of making the playoffs this year. SOURCE: Adam Schefter on Twitter Lots of action and good names being moved this year. I think this may be the new norm. |
