Re: SP Putting Together a Staff
As a fan, I honestly don't care where he goes outside the division.
I will enjoy watching Sean Payton's career as long as it's not in Atlanta, Tampa or Carolina. |

AZ is on the clock also.

Re: SP Putting Together a Staff
Payton,Carmichael and Ireland all off to Arizona maybe.

Re: SP Putting Together a Staff
I would love to get the 2nd (Texans), 3rd (Cardinals), or 4th (Colts) overall pick for Payton and take C.J. Stroud.

Sources: The Arizona Cardinals fired head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who 10 months ago signed a contract extension through the 2027 season. The Cardinals still never have had a head coach - any head coach - last longer than six years while the team has existed for over 100 years. |

And..... the Titans are on the clock also.

Here's a biggie: What if Sean McVay leaves the Rams? You think Payton wants that sunshine Hollywood life?
You bet he does. |

Re: SP Putting Together a Staff
While we are on the subject of coaches... We tend to focus heavily on failed draft picks but other than Sean Payton, which could be argued owes most of his success to Drew Brees, we don't have many positive notables.
Dennis Allen - HC Rob Ryan - DC Jim Haslett - HC Mike Ditka - HC Pete Carmichael - OC Steve Spagnuolo - DC I hate to say it, but off the field and out of the salary cap, we are not a very talented organization. We had one hit wonders but have floundered back to mediocrity. |

Now this I can see given Houston has two #1's. But would Payton be willing to go there over other possibilities?

Add the Texans (per Peter Schrager) to the mix as well. They have 2 1st rounders (#3 and #12). |

Re: SP Putting Together a Staff
This is what I've been saying all along. There's not going to be a bidding war. Payton will pick the one team he wants to go to and then a deal will be made.

Just don’t see it as an option & I don’t think Jerruh moves on from McCarthy regarless of what happens in post season for the Boys. |
Re: SP Putting Together a Staff
CJ STROUD is a solid prospect but the Saints need to get rid of this stale play caller … Pete Carmichael.
I have no faith in him as a play caller. Stale and no creativity. |
Re: SP Putting Together a Staff
I can’t help but entertain the idea that Sean knows where he wants to go and wants to bring Thomas along with him as part of the trade due to Thomas’ recent restructure. Im thinking Arizona a good possibility and that #3 overall along with maybe their second or next years first would be really nice. A Stroud and Olave combination with a fresh new OC is fun to think about

Re: SP Putting Together a Staff
Speaking of new OC, Bobby Slowik from the 49ers came up in an article I was reading and after reading up on him, I think he is an intriguing candidate.

And Payton will absolutely go where HE wants to go, not to where the Saints want him to go. They only have control over where they DON'T want him to go. |
