Good lets get them picks. Also he should feel free to include Peat, Hill, Thomas, Carmichael, Troutman, and Ingram in his plans.

Nothing less than THREE number 1s for the Saints, or TWO number 1s and a combination of players, preferably pro-bowl level guards.

Chargers are looking more and more like his destination.

So NOW Sean Payton wants Vic Fangio as his DC???

Man, I so wanted him in NO as def coordinator before the Ryan hire.

Indeed. Those prime Brees years where we finished 7-9 because we had defenses ranked in the 30s were killers.

Sean is a smart guy - leaking just enough info to keep teams salivating. Need him back or else a gigantic offer.

Should also put to rest that faint notion that he's coming back. :bng:

I was wrong that Payton plans to stick with being a talking head and I'm so glad. This is encouraging news.
Merry Christmas, INDEED!

The thing is that I don't think Sean Payton will pigeonhole himself to a team that has no number one draft pick this year, next year, and the year after for three first round draft picks. Unfortunately I think the best we can do is a couple of second round and a couple of third round picks if we don't get the first round from somebody. Also, Sean Payton values his guards, at least he did while protecting Drew Brees, so I doubt that he will trade away those assets that would help him build his team.

I would be happy with a rd1 and 3 this year and a 4 next. Anything to get us back in the first

Tayson, Minchew, Dalton, and a draft picks to bring along.
Unfortunately, a broken back is no bueno for a QB. Time for Jameis to ride into the sunset.

Should have traded for Minshew when he was getting out of Jackson ville. Could have had a player for 2 years on rookie money and probably kept William/CGJ or not loaded more money on next year to a player not in a Saints Jersey. All for what was it a 6th rounder

Andy Dalton Career: 82 - 76 - 2
Gardener Minshew Career: 9 - 16 looks like another "One Year Wonder" to me.
Trevor Siemian Career: 13 - 17
Geno Smith Career: 20-29
Nick Foles Career: 29 -27
The Much Wanted Mac Jones Career: 15 - 14

CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!

Drew Brees 30-28 at San Diego.

Gotta take a chance on a QB at some point.

Payton is gonna have options where he lands next. HC’s are getting fired every other week.

Is Denver the destination as they fired their first year coach today?

Re: SP Putting Together a Staff

Highest bidder!!

I can't believe some of you here would settle for anything less than multiple first-rounders, plus, plus, plus.

Sean Payton is widely viewed as the top HC candidate in years - a lock to turn a franchise's fortunes around and build a sustainable winning program for decades to come.

I wish he’d come back and turn our franchise around. Lol

Don’t see it.

1 - does Denver allow him full control?
2- does Denver have enough draft compensation?
3- Aren’t there rumors of SP wanting Fangio as his DC?
No way do I see Vic going back to the team that fired him.

Just don’t see Payton accepting a HC gig there.

Probably because if you price teams out this offseason he signs where he wants for nothing the year after when the contract is up

I would take 2 #1's and 2 #2's for him. 1st year a # 1, second season both 2's and the 3rd season a #1. I would spread it out. Maybe he drops the ball and we smell like roses or we have decent picks for the next 3 seasons and rebuild this team.

Not bad... and a probowl player or two in the mix.

I love the scenario some of you are hoping for. No offense, but so many are going to be disappointed. I highly doubt he yields multiple 1sts. We can only hope for a 1st+.

Indy?? Defense isn't bad but no qb. or O- line. Although Payton has no problem building an O-line. Qb will be the issue.

There is precedent for multiple firsts. I didn't make up the number.

Gruden went for 2 1's and 2 2's.

Yes, other HCs have been traded for less, but Gruden is the best apples to apples.

Just as there is a precedent for overpaying for a franchise QB. Eerily similar costs historically.

If Denver is the destination, he'll have Russell Wilson for a while. RW's cap hit is unreal.

You're going to have to show your work on that one Smash.

Then your cost analysis is incomplete!

Depending on where SP goes, he could also have a mediocre year. Does that mean he wasn't worth the price paid?
