Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread

Naw, the national media (AND GUYS THAT PLAYED THE GAME) respects Onyemata & Davenport ... it's not just NOLA.

I understand it was time to "re do" the D line but I somewhat disagree with Chris here. Even with a down year in 2022, losing David O, Davenport, Ellis & Ninja Tuttle (decent in rotation) is a big deal for this defense + we have a new D-line coach & DC.

No one knows how the "replacements" will do or if they will mesh.

Even with the draft, there are still plenty of unknowns.

What's Kwon Alexander doing these days? ... Ellis is a Falcon now.

The Saints need depth pieces.

Sheldon Rankins is another one I'd keep an eye on.

Not sure if you watched any of the Jets last season but Sheldon is still a solid run defender & he has never "sucked". Ever.

Last time I checked, the Saints just lost two contributors (David O/Tuttle) on the D line & being able to stop the run is paramount if you want to compete in the NFL.

Aaron Donald, Chris Jones & Grady Jarrett aren't options for us at DT

Did Trautman show any signs of improvement last year? I'm asking because I missed most of the games last year. I didn't see much of him in the games I did manage to watch.

From what I saw, as a blocker he was effective as always, as a pass catcher he was basically invisible.

Juwan Johnson looked far and away the better player to me.

Somewhat underutilized. He was only targeted 22 times, but had 18 receptions with a lone TD.

Looks like we'll absolutely be having some compensatory picks coming our way next year. Losing free agents to division opponents scores higher in the formula.
