We definitely need a RB, if they believe the price is right.

We need a tough runner to take the pressure of Kamara. In his short stint with us last season, Latavius Murray showed how much we missed that presence. When he left and Ingram took over, the offense became even more lackluster.

Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread

We signed Jamaal Williams (1K/17 TDs in 2022) this offseason.

I'd look to add another RB in the draft. There's plenty available & they'll come cheap.

Think they have to get one, either FA or Draft. Kamara likely looking at a long'ish suspension. Need a change of pace back at least

Chase Young being on the block is interesting. I considering trading the 3rd rounder or future pick for him. Even if it doesn't work out there is a good chance you get the pick back via comp the year after. Looks worth the risk for potential value

Need holes filled? Cam Jordan likes how we've done.

Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread

Hadn't seen it posted but the Saints have declined Ruiz's 5th-year option.

Former 1st rounders gotta show more than one "improved" season.

I'm not at all surprised by the Saint's front office.

It appears only ten of the 32 5th year options from the 2020 draft has been exercised. Other teams have until 4:00 eastern, i think, to make their declarations.

Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread

Regardless of how well Ruiz is currently playing, $14 to $21 million is pretty steep for 2024. They should be able to extend him for a more reasonable number.

And there you have it ... The growing trend across the league on 5th year options and 2nd contracts. It makes the draft ever more incrementally important. While the NFL attempts to unearth new and newer revenue sources to keep up with the demands of the salary cap, at some point the goose that lays the golden eggs will curtail her production. Absurd money is getting even more absurd. It's unsustainable long-term.
