this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; DCarr , Taysom, Jamal Williams, Thomas, Washington, AK, Olave, Shaheed & host of others including the draft. Lots of options on offense. No excuses for Pete Carmichael and his play calling in 2023....

Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread
Looking like we have all the weapons available that we can hope for at this point in the off-season. Now let's all hope the offensive line stays intact. We can't have 17 different offensive line groupings again this year and expect anything dramatically different. Back when our offense was rolling we almost always had the same starting five in there week after week after week.

Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread
This here ^^^
Before this last season people were saying all we had at LB was Demario and the kid Werner. But out of nowhere Kaden Ellis finally got a chance to play the limited position of LB in the Saints' 4-2 front when Werner went down. When we lost Ellis to free agency we were hearing all about the dire need for LB's. D'Marco Jackson was drafted for a reason last year. We let Ellis walk for a reason this year. We (the front office) didn't panic during the draft in search for a backup LB. I think they like what they have in Jackson and feel they have the LB corps mostly ready to go. |

Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread
Bring in more guys to compete at the linebacker position.
D'Marco hasn't played a down of NFL football. Quality depth is the name of the game at this level. |

Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread
They've certainly accrued some weapons for Derek Carr this off-season.
Very happy with the moves so far, only thing that can hold the offense back is Pete C in my opinion. |

Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread
As long as it is healthy, then yes, I agree. But I just can't see how Carmichael totally forgot how to playcall all of the sudden. One would have to imagine that the limitations with the decimated offensive line and Mr. Conservative at QB in Andy Dalton had to play a part in that. I wonder how many times Dalton audibled into a run. But, we will definitely see on September 10th at noon. I can't wait.

Looks like the Captain, Cam, believes in Allen and Carmichael. I believe in him.
