re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread

We should have detained Deuce Vaughn after the Sugar Bowl and refused to let him leave the Superdome. Vaughn looks like Darren Sproles and a wolf had a baby. He should fare better than Sproles in the NFL - think of Sprolesy, but add jump-cutting ability that reminds me of LeSean McCoy. He has sneaky power like DeAngelo Williams or Maurice Jones Drew had. He does a great job will his small frame to burrow for extra yards. He didn't show it in the Sugar Bowl, but Vaughn is also a very good receiver.

Very excited for this draft. This is going to be an important one. There will be a lot of bargains at QB and OL this year. Sometimes I watch the Georgia Bulldogs OL and think they are probably better than some of the lesser starting OL in the NFL!

I think the Saints can get a #1 for Payton, I'm just worried that it won't be for the 2023 draft.

Whether through Draft of FA, my opinion is we need:
QB of the future
RB
OG (cannot continue with Peat)
DT what happened to Onyemata
DE Davenport, OUT
S of the future

After the Carolina game I'm adding:

OC - Carmichael NOT the man. Go spend money on the position Gayle.
K - Is Lutz no longer worth the money??
WR - with MT all but gone, there's a big hole to fill

Trades:
Demario Davis - does Kaden make Davis expendable?

I don't know if Kaden is the answer but trading Davis would get us a good pick. I hate the thought of trading Davis but under Allen I would pull the trigger. I would trade Kamara also. I have no confidence with Allen as a HC and if we're not going to be contenders then maybe Ireland can work his magic for whoever replaces Allen has a good young core in place for the 2024 season.

Been warming up to Duggan as a mid rounder. We'll have a better picture of what we can or can't do as soon as Payton is traded. We do need to beef up that DL.

I know, eh? Tulane's RB ain't no joke. There was once another Tulane RB the Saints didn't wanna draft that went on to have a stellar career with the Bears.
