Obviously, it’s a multifaceted problem. One of the factors is not just if you have a top ten (or 15 etc) pick. It’s if you have a high enough pick to nab a “capable” QB and your team/organization is good enough to help them succeed. Payton never drafted a QB but he never needed to until Brees retired. Pittsburgh went a long time with Roth. If Payton would have stayed the Saints coach he likely would have done something to grab a QB early (like in place of Penning) to fill the void.

Mahomes is an example from the player’s side of going to the right team. Now he’s a great talent who likely would be a successful QB most anywhere, but I don’t think he would have accomplished what he has so far with Reid in KC had he gone to say Houston.

You think you know, but you don’t know...and you never will! Coach Jim Mora

Yep.

On Nick's latest podcast, he stated that when he studied Jackson's college tape he excelled against the run & has a "quickness" about him.

We shall see. Training camp awaits.

I believe this is a major reason why the Saints were willing to let Ellis walk this off-season. Between Jackson and Orji they may feel they have the quality depth to backup their two LB slots in the 4-2 they normally run.

Hey Smash -

I see MT out there but is he participating in the "basic" drills yet?

This is definitely a time for those other guys (Perry, Edwards, Shaquan D, Baker, etc) to take advantage of those reps.

Even at OTA's.

More of a sideline queen right now jabbering with D. Carr. At least he's showing up. I wonder if the verbal lashing by Mr. Choke Bobby Hebert was a factor?

Buddy D used to hand those out on the regular.
