We can get a hell of a haul from the Panties.
But does he want to go there? That's the big question. They can offer us all their picks for the next three years, but if Payton wants to chill in the Fox studios again we're **** out of luck.

Well, he did interview, didn't he, on Monday with the second richest NFL team owner in the NFL.

Yup. He sure did. He has to do his due diligence and interview all interested teams. Every team has him undoubtedly as their #1 choice. Now he has to decide between all of them or returning to Fox and waiting for better openings next year.

Hopefully we hear a decision within the week.

He wanted GB the first time around. He "settled" for the Saints. He's not settling now, except the markets you may be alluding to may still not be available next year. There are only 32 teams, therefore 32 HC opportunities. They are all good, to a certain extend. It'll be this year and the Saints will have a voice in where, as they should.

I hope you are right, but I honestly feel you aren't. It is pretty much a consensus out there that the decision is all his and then it's up to the Saints to get their best deal from that team.

Don't forget that Payton is getting paid more than 75% of all NFL coaches right now working a fraction of the time at Fox. He doesn't have to do anything until he is ready. He can wait until his contract is up.

Once again, I hope like hell that we get something out of this sooner rather than later. But I'm expecting no more than a 1st and two or three other picks whenever it does happen.

May be just me, but not sure many other owners besides Denver and Carolina will pay the $20-25 million a year he seeks and almost got at Miami.

I agree with this. That just narrows his choices down to those two if that means that much to him. I think he's more concerned with how much control he has and what he has to work with as far as picks and personnel.

Just thought of this, these owners are probably paying the CEO's of their corporations $50 million a year or more. $20-$25 million isn't that much in their scheme of things.
