Gail Benson needs to put her foot down and request Miami's now taken by RG 2023 #1 draft pick as compensation for the tampering.

And everyone, including Payton, knows he has no bearing on his trade value. I'm afraid you are imagining his lobbying. It's not there. |

Parcels convinced him to seize an opportunity to turn around a downtrodden franchise. He's following the Parcels playbook, except it's taken him longer to move on than he's really wanted. We're grateful as fans for the one trophy we got. We really should have had more if he knows the rulebook like BB, or the SF TE is covered better in 2011.

Loomis and Gayle Benson need to ensure they are getting properly compensated for the Miami situation. No one is really talking about it, but it should be much more in the forefront.

As for compensation, I hope you are right, but comparing the compensation for a player with no say in the matter to that for Payton who has total say for where he wants to go is comparing apples to fence posts. |

We can't have a Ceedy Deuce type of trade, period. We'll see if Loomis comes through.

I did some research on the NFL tampering rules when this was all going on, Smash. The bylaws stated that the league could levy fines and/or dock the franchise implicated in tampering draft picks. I posted that all somewhere here months ago. The rules do not, however, allow for any awarding of compensation or such to a team that has been tamped with. It is a done deal unless the bylaws are changed and then it will only apply to occurrences moving forward. |
