Re: Evaluating Coaches
Another consideration with the Ronald Curry interview is that the Saints can block any acquisition from another team by promoting that coach to the position for which they are being interviewed.
In other words, the Saints could offer Curry the OC job and if he accepts they could move on from Carmichael. |

By the way, Rugs, where did you get the idea he didn't want the OC job with the Saints? There was a rumor that he didn't want to interview for the head coaching position, but I believe that was because he WANTED to remain as the Saints' OC. |

Re: Evaluating Coaches
DA is a seasoned NFL head coach ....seasoned...4 full offseasons, camps, workout programs, pre season and over 30 games coached in 3 years in OAK and an entire season with the saints after being an in house hire.....he's terrible and he still learning on the job on the saints fan dime imo.
I just don't get it from a handful here that posts a bunch of "what if" scenarios with Dennis A or Pete C. Make it make sense. |

Re: Evaluating Coaches
I've got some feelers out to find out if Richard's hire by Carolina would be a qualifier for a compensatory pick. In other words, is defensive coordinator an upgrade in position hierarchy from co-defensive coordinator?

Not sure, but I think it's minority based, not that it should matter.

Re: Evaluating Coaches
Speaking of compensatory picks, I hope that the New Orleans Saints don't bring in a bunch of high priced free agents this off season, and instead try to bring in players through the draft and go get some young up and comers from other teams. We had a good chance at some compensatory draft picks last year but did not get them since we signed what was supposedly equal value, but obviously wasn't.
