Offense:

Dennis Allen. Head coach. Allen had another abysmal season as a head coach after failing with the Raiders in his first attempt. He's a good DC but he's in way over his head as a Head coach.

Pete Carmichael. Offensive Coordinator. Carmichael's job security is gone after 14 seasons as OC, mostly under Sean Payton.

Ronald Curry. Passing Game Coordinator/Quarterbacks coach. Curry is considered a top offensive young mind who has been in the NFL 17 seasons.

Dan Roushar. Roushar is the run game coordinator/tight ends coach. He's been with the Saints for 9 years. He made Juwan Johnson, a converted UDFA wideout, our best receiving TE since Jeremy Shockey.

Joel Thomas. Running backs coach. Thomas has been the Saints running backs coach for seven seasons. I have to credit him for some of AK's success.

Kodi Burns. WR's coach. Burns has been here one year and has done an amazing job with developing Olave and Shaheed rookie receivers into deep threats. He comes from UT with experience developing players.

Doug Marrone.
Offensive line coach. Marrone did well in his first stint with New Orleans but has struggled since his return. He helped to finally developed Ruiz last season.

Defense:

Ryan Nielsen: Co-Defensive Coordinator/Defensive line. Nielsen has been in charge of the D-line for six years and is highly sought after for vacant coaching spots.

Kris Richard. Co-defensive Coordinator/Secondary coach. Richard joined the Saints in 2021 and helped solidify the back end. We are widely respected for our secondary with a lot of the credit due to him. He is also sought after this coaching cycle.

Peter Guinta. Senior defensive assistant. 43 year coaching veteran with three Super bowl Championships.

Michael Hodges. Linebackers coach. He has developed Pete Werner and Ellis into starters and the room is solid.

Special Teams:

Darren Rizzi. Special teams have been up and down in New Orleans since 2019, but mostly up. He was the Saints assistant head coach in 2022 as well.

This was almost a poll but I changes my mind.
Dennis had a really good offseason filling our holes. He's a struggling HC but he's one hell of a DC! Ideally, he would step down and continue to run this dynamic defense. But sadly, if he leaves then his defense goes with him.

Pete Carmichael.....It's time for a sabbatical too. Buh Bye!

Dougie Marrone? Is he senile or something? Maybe he should be tested....and I don't mean by the other teams front four like the last four weeks.

I keep hearing that he's got a lot of skins on the wall and was a good coach before. Even though, when he left I forgot who he was. He's not very good. Nick Saban fire him after just one season. If you're an LSU fan you will get a kick out how crappy the O line was. If I remember correctly, the Saints were putting out some good O line players when he was here but they were tremendous players in spite of him.

What are the options to replace PC? Curry? Gruden? Something has to give and it doesn't need to be the Saints fans giving up.

Curry did the play-calling in at least two of the preseason games this year. Not sure about the other.

Re: Evaluating Coaches

How much longer will DA hitch his wagon with Pete as OC?

You wanna bench Penning … fine. Bench Peat .. I understand.

But at what point do you start getting rid of coaches? Or demotions?

Pete is holding this offense back as a signal caller.

We can’t score tds. I’m not even including the Pats win. They’re awful.

Something has gotta change with the play calling.

A move like that require accountability. DA doesn't have the gonads to call out his coaches specifically. He prefers generalizations and saying that we have to do better as a coaching staff. I guess so. They can't do much worse!

Curry addressed the team at half time rather than Carmichael. I don't know if he took over the play calling but it seemed like we finally found a little rhythm late in the game.

Re: Evaluating Coaches

It's not the play caller but the QB running the play. Ultimately it's the HC for pulling the right strings ... which he isn't right now .

Re: Evaluating Coaches

LD Bell (Dennis), Pete C, Carr … take your pick.

They’re ALL under performing.
