Carr isn't worth the price for a middle of the road QB.

Carr has already put up career top 30 numbers in the NFL in TD's and yardage. He has exceeded numbers that some hall of fame QB's never reached. I seriously doubt he's simply a middle of the road QB.

Wake me when someone signs.

If it's Carr. I guess that's fine. But if it (new QB, same OC) doesn't work - year one - I've had enough of DA.

If it's a draft pick, that's actually more exciting for me. Love to watch who falls on draft night far enough for us to take or trade for.

Carr is also 31 with no playoff wins and he’s 63-79 as a starter. If I had to choose between the two I’m taking he unproven Hendon Hooker based off what I saw at Virginia Tech and Tennessee.

As far as Carr being better in “our” system, “our” system is in Denver. That quarterback friendly system is with Payton. As we saw last year, Carmichael ain’t it.

If we get Carr and Hooker I’d be happy.
If we get just Hooker I’d be happy.
If we get Carr and no Hooker I’m pissed.

I'm here as well... Regardless of who is signed we still need the future of the franchise waiting in the wings.

Good. The drama is over.

Now get to work. I still want to draft a QB next month :bng:.

I think Hooker is off the table now. I'm sad about it.

+1.

Yep, listening to Loomis talk the last couple of weeks they strongly feel that DCarr is the "long-term" solution @ QB.

This is where I disagree.

I would say he is definitely off the table. We should probably still begin the Patriots approach and start drafting and grooming QB's to backup Carr and eventually be used as trade bait. Carr is going to be the long term answer moving forward and the Saints have just jumped into being the favorites to win the division.

Guess we're all in.

I'm glad this is over with. This gives us a clear direction as a franchise.

I hope I am wrong, but the Saints signing Carr feels almost the same as the time the Saints traded for Richard Todd... I know that is going way back and we know how Todd worked out. Hope I am wrong and Carr leads us to championships!

To me it seems more like when the Saints went out and signed a free agent named Drew Brees.

Don't give up Matthew.

I'm still hopeful we select a QB in the draft & I completely get the cautious optimism of the signing. There are zero guarantees Carr moves the needle in NO. ZERO.

Especially with Allen and Carmichael calling plays.

I hope we draft Tune in the mid rounds, McCall is going back to school but if he wasn't I would be screaming to draft him and let him develop. Tune will develop into a good qb.

I've read a couple of scout reports comparing his skill set to Brock Purdy.

So in theory, he's a lower-round pick or goes undrafted.

We'll see.

I don't know Major, there are a lot of teams needing qb.'s this season. Seems a little more than usual. Possibly he could be had in the lower rounds but I don't think he's gonna be to low. 4th maybe 5th

We're not sure what direction the is yet. We're hoping that it is positive, of course. :bng:

Meanwhile, the NFL still hates the Saints because we cheated and beat up Peyton Manning. We hope for a positive direction after signing Derek Carr but the media will have to put a negative spin on it for clicks.

Maybe the Saints should've talked to this coach a while back?

We didn't need to. This coach said it all.

That's who was responsible for those picks. Todd Monken knew that and was taking a dig at Arians.
