i think the big issue, at least for me was this hand fighting happened throughout the first 55 minutes or so with little or no calls, now all of sudden it was called at that moment. Agreed. I am fine with a call like that as long as they have been calling it like that the whole game. Not all of a sudden.

And I don't agree with people who say you shouldn't call that at the end of the game. I don't get why the rules should change at the end of the game.

I agree. It doesn't matter if an officiating crew fails to make a call earlier in a game for whatever reason. If they see one near the end of the game they should call it. Calls are going to be missed at times, but should never be ignored when they are seen regardless of the timeliness of the call.

This is why I always have issues, particularly in Title Games or the Final Four in March Madness, where the refs swallow their whistles. Call it consistently dow the line, whether there's a Half left to play or 30 seconds.

Yup. But, one side or the other will always complain in the end. Even on a correct call like this one.
