I can hear the front office now. "Maybe there's a player under this rock we can use? No? What about that rock? It's big? What about this guy? We can fix him."

These players we are bringing in are not to improve the roster, they are to replace better players that are unable to play, or practice, due to injury. Every roster in the league is getting weaker week by week as the season progresses due to that same attrition. Once again that issue was raised today on NFL Radio. The offensive lines all across the league are taking hits.

Last week, in reference to the games in Europe, the topic of expansion was raised. It was noted that a four team expansion would makes matters worse for all 36 teams since it would require 40 or more offensive linemen for those expansion teams when there aren't enough players to man the starting lineups with the current 32 teams today. They said there simply are not enough humans available with the skill and natural abilities to fill all the needs.

Getting players back means making room.

Trying to sneak Tony back to the practice squad.

It goes back to good drafting players to develop.

That and giving them the time to develop and not trying to label them busts two games into their careers like some impatient fans seem to do routinely. But, probably half of those aren't going to cut the mustard anyway so you bring in two or three more hoping they can make the cut.

Re: The 2023 JeanPierre Saints Roster Depth Chart Thread

98- Turner, Payton IR

I bring this name up because last night, saw a local Minny report saying that former Saints DE Marcus Davenport is likely headed to IR.

If I were the Saints, I'd start scouting more DE's that are draft eligible in 2024. You can't count Turner's health. It's a good thing Carl Granderson is taking care of business.

Cam J probably hangs em up in a year or two.
