Re: The 2023 JeanPierre Saints Roster Depth Chart Thread

Still, quite a few names out there in LB land that would be solid depth.

Jayon Brown, Myles Jack, or Corey Littleton.

Relying on an unproven rookie coming off an ACL injury & uncertainty of Werner playing 17 games is dangerous.

Demario is a dawg but father time (he's 34) has never lost.

Edit * Too bad things didn't work out with Kwon (who knows the system). He was a spark.

Re: The 2023 JeanPierre Saints Roster Depth Chart Thread

It's still super early, however, I'd bring in an experienced vet @ LB.

A lot of young guys but unproven.

At the very least, get a guy to fill the role left by > Kaden Ellis.

Don't dissagree ... however methinks they wait until cuts are being made around the league. It may be a while since the end of training camps are still a ways away. And who knows... maybe one of the rookies shows us something.

Those upcoming joint practices with the Chargers will definitely give us an idea of what we're working with.

Re: The 2023 JeanPierre Saints Roster Depth Chart Thread

[quote=K Major;974124]There are some analysts (Cosell, Baldinger) who believe this may be Edward's last opportunity in the NFL.

Personally, I was looking for a nice resurgence story line for him this season. Carr wasn't the only one stuck in Raiders purgatory.

I know they are really high on D'Marco Jackson and Anfernee Orji. I know they paid up to sign Orji as a UDFA. I believe Andrew Dowell showed promise last year, as well. We usually only keep six LB's on the roster, covering special teams and base defense.

I'm getting the feeling they feel they have the depth covered with who they added and who is returning already. I haven't really heard that much from their end about LB being a big concern.
Thank you. I feel more comfortable now about the position behind DD and Warner.

Maybe these joint practices will get the competitive juices flowing early in training camp rather than coming out flat footed in our first few games before getting our act together late and fighting out of a hole.
