Re: The 2023 JeanPierre Saints Roster Depth Chart Thread

It's time to see how comfortable AT Perry is in the system now that MT is out for.......however long. It's the next man up mantra. Although, Perry double clutched the TD and had a problem with drops in TC he stepped up when we needed him to. So, I'm a little concerned, but not overly concerned. He has the makeup of a strong possession receiver and he's still just a rookie learning a complex system.

Possibly a move to make room for Pierre-Paul. They can resign him to the practice squad.

Re: The 2023 JeanPierre Saints Roster Depth Chart Thread

Take a peek at the roster .... DEFENSE in particular.

We are aging & it's starting to show.

Maye, Mathieu (played well vs Atl), Cam & Demario.

I don't see any disruption on the defensive line. None.

Linebackers - no sideline to sideline assasins. Demario is a warrior but he's old & obviously lost a step. Take off the rose colored glasses and re watch the ATL game. Even the Atlanta coach noticed that we had no answer for the outside zone runs. Bijon and Algiers exposed us. Demario couldn't keep up & Pete W has been hit or miss.

Time to revisit these positions in the draft/2024 Free Agency.

I’ve been saying this for a few years now. We are slow upfront and teams know it. The sad part is we had multiple opportunities to get quicker through FA and the draft and they decided to keep doing what we are doing. There aren’t any statues in the pocket playing QB now. We need sideline to sideline speed to keep these QBs and zone plays in check.

And this is why Vegas put our win total so low.

FWIW, Saints plan to sign Austin Siebert (K) to the practice squad.

Re: The 2023 JeanPierre Saints Roster Depth Chart Thread

Penning needs to be cut outright, or at the very least released to the practice squad. He is far too raw and unskilled to be an asset to any other team. Why is he still taking up a roster spot?

To me this is the perfect example of Mickey's indecisiveness and his self-delusion that his/the team's choices must be the right ones, regardless of the outcome.
