I think what they saw in Jackson alone made Elliss expendable. Before this past season Elliss had been seen by many around here and elsewhere as a bit of a bust. He stepped into Werner's role and looked pretty decent. There's really no reason why Jackson, Anderson, or Orji couldn't do the same, if needed, and for a lot less money than Elliss got on the free agent market. I'm also curious to see how Elliss responds to moving from Dennis Allen's 4-2 front to Atlanta's 3-4. The same can be said for Onyemata taking over as NT in that same 3-4.
