There are several camp battles for certain spots in the lineup of the New Orleans Saints, and it seems like the majority are on the defensive side of the ball. One that is probably the hottest at the moment though, is the competition to see who will be starting at defensive end opposite Cameron Jordan for the Saints between Payton Turner and Carl Granderson.

Turner has been showing out so far in camp, which is a welcome sign in the building considering the Saints used their 28th overall pick in the 2021 Draft to bring him in, and the return of investment hasn't exactly been up to snuff... yet. Sometimes that happens though with defensive linemen, see Brandon Graham with the Philadelphia Eagles as a bit of a pipedream example.

Read the rest here ...
This is great. Adds a lot of depth to the DE spot if we can have Granderson and Turner both balling. Hopefully Foskey develops as well.

Yeah Davenport was an enigma. Extremely physically gifted but just couldn't get the mental aspect right.

Yet the clueless pundits claim the loss of Davenport and the equally ineffective Onyemata are critical losses that should downgrade the Saints defensive prospects this season.

Just couldn't stay on the field on Sundays. He was very good (except last season) but had questionable availability.

Only gave us a tease of his potential.

He is the Viking's problem now so there's that. Now we can focus on Davenport 2.0 ... I mean Payton Turner .

According to Jeff Duncan, Carl Granderson has had a better camp than PT thus far.

I think it was 2021 season, but there was comparison videos of Carl Granderson working with martial arts trainers to better fight off blocks and doing a lean sprint challenge at the same time.

At the same time, Davenport was in Japan getting photos of Anime.
