I did. I believe that Carr is easily the best QB we have had in at least the past four years (including Brees' last two seasons) and possibly will go down as the second best ever (and, yes, better than Manning).

Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Titans

I watched the game but has been away for the whole week with work so some of these takes you might find stale.

* Penning, this was probably the worst performance I have seen from a Saints LT in 10 years. He is still a hip-flipper (this has been my knock on him since before he was drafted) which means he will open rushing lanes that need not be there.

* The O-line as a whole needs to improve. It was blatantly obvious that the starters did not get many meaningful reps in the preseason. I really think this game should be enough evidence to actually play the more in the preseason.

* Mike Thomas looked like the Mike Thomas we all love.

* The above pint is a great thing because Chris Olave picked up right where he left. Those two wll be a PROBLEM for defences this year.

* Or maybe I should say...those...three..?..because that Shaheed cat is developing nicely and while Olave has good speed Shaheed is a straight burner. Carr has an arm on him and we finally have someone who can really stretch the field.
Yeah He had the fumble but still a good game from him.

* I love that Demario Davis is one of the faces of the franchise. Just a great guy. His post game talk is just wow.
And did y'all see when Derrick Henry tried to chip him? Davis was having none of that.

* Any time a defence holds King Henry to 68 yards rushing its a good thing. Goe sto show we have good players on all levels of the defence. Even if he ragdolled Maye early they kept getting bolder and hitting him. For a CB like Taylor coming up and just stacking him up antil the cavalry arrived, that is some great stuff.

* Three INTs! I don't even remember the last time that happened but it feels like it was a long time ago.

* Great to have a blocked punt. Thos things can change the mentality of a game. Good thing it was Baun, making a nice play like that should boost his confidence.

* I like that #4 Derek Carr guy.

* Cameron Jordan just keeps doing Cameron Jordan things. What a remarkable player!

There is a ton of stuff to clean up, to get better at after this game but I saw a lot of things that I feel good about. I hope we can come out guns blazing against the Panthers. That the D can get a jump on 'em early so the O can go to work in a steady methodical way.

W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Re: Observations from the Saints win vs Titans

Watched Collin Cowherds Blazing 5 yesterday (watch ever week ) and one of his picks was the Saints Panthers game.

He is picking Panthers +3 over Saints that fine he usually always takes the points … but his reasoning is

Brice young was 20-38 for 146 yards QBR of 20 CMP of 52.6% 1 TD and 2 interceptions shows that the coaching likes and trust BY.

New Orleans offense is a mess and Carr was not very good … 23-33 305 yards QBR 60.6 CMP 69.7% 1 TD 1 interception. And Colin guesses the Saints defense is ok.

Ridder was 15-18 for 115 yards and as a team rushed for 130 yards.

Saints Run Defense is ranked # 10 after week 1
Titians #15
Panthers #20
Falcons # 25

Is just another example of “Implicit Bias” in the National media or am just missing something here looking at the stats of the 4 teams involved.

What?
They looked only about average, but a mess?
We went up against a good defense without our 1st and 2nd string RB. I expect we'll look better this week, although Carolina's D-line is very good.
Now if he's talking strictly about our LT situation, I'll agree its a mess right now..

Not trying to start anything WW but Cowherd is the least listenable sports personality out there IMO. His manner of speech, his self egotism, all make him an even bigger jackwagon than Guido IMO.

None of his takes that I’ve heard are based on facts. He’s wrong more than right and he takes no responsibility or admits when he’s wrong. But then again, I haven’t listen to him that much in the last 10 years. He used to be a regular on my hour and a half commute across the bay area in San Francisco and that’s where I develop my opinion on him.

That being said, I’d probably take Carolina and the points as well for this game
