Look, when the initial reports on the drama around MT's injury and the coaches came out, I was hard on him too. I believed what was written and wanted him off the team.

But since then, it's impossible not to see how coaches, players and reporters alike have all supported MT and echoed his importance to this team.

A Prima Donna is defined as "A temperamental, conceited person". All I've seen from MT is a guy who supports his coaches, fights for his team and wants to win more than anything else.

At this point you're grinding an axe that running out of metal
Just reiterating what I said before. mapcow has made it clear that certain players are nonredeemable in his eyes and that they need to be gone. Production doesn't matter. If MT13 caught 160 balls for 2000 yards and 20 TD's this year he would still be the the "Prima donna that can't stay on the field and isn't a team player."

So, don't bother with it. Note that mapcow even liked my post where I stated exactly this.

Like you incorrectly swore we were going to 3 years ago and every year since?

No wonder you are so bitter being so terribly wrong all of this time. It must eat away at you after all of the time and energy you've given this campaign of hate toward Thomas. One would almost feel sorry for you. Not quite, but almost.

That is an interesting question, I had to rationalize my answer with my actions and not my feelings.

On the surface, I did not draft MT this year in fantasy because he has no consistency. So for same reasons I find "Power Rankings" before the start of a season absurd and useless, performance last year doesn't define next year.

Thinking abut it deeper, the MT question is not just about MT is it? QB accuracy and play calling weigh heavily into that equation and what we have doesn't move the needle into a favorable direction for me.

You sort of missed my point. To Mapcow, MT13 is all about feelings, and nothing about production. Even if now he was consistent and productive, because of the feelings about the player, he would still be dismissed by some. Nothing else matters.

As for the Saints as a whole, it's all about consistency now. They have the talent. They certainly have the scheme on defense. Carmichael seems to be trying. Injuries haven't been terrible yet. But there just can't be 4th quarters to the Packers, or entire games for the offense to the Bucs. Everyone needs to do their job for 4 quarters each and every game for the team to move where they need to go.

When Brees was here, you could pretty much go into any game knowing the offense was going to put up 20 or more points before the game started. But now, each game offensively is currently a Forrest Gump's box of chocolates. The Saints have to decide offensively if they are going to be consistently explosive or find a way to consistently grind each drive. But the latter cannot have penalties, incompletes, or unproductive runs to be effective. And right now we just haven't seen either on any consistent basis.

It's a thing of beauty when everyone rows together, to the tune of a 34-0 shellacking of the Patriots. But the Saints are not currently the 49ers, which are putting up 35+ points each and every week as an unstoppable juggernaut. Consistency is the difference between the two.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

Play calling was still stale and conservative and would have produced a different result against a mediocre team. Luckily the Patriots are awful on both sides of the ball. I think BB has already mailed it in eying first overall.

Basically, the Saints played against themselves (the patriots) today, and won.

Then they kicked their selves 34-0. Pretty decent.

Do we need to win 68-0 for the haters to give any credit? Probably not. It's like we win and it pisses the haters off even more like they want us to lose so they have more to ***** about.

Oh, well.

I thought we played a great game on the road and Carr looked like the shoulder was much better off this week.

No, we don’t need to win 68 - 0 in order to get cred… we need to play consistently GOOD FOOTBALL against ALL opponents, week after week. We have tremendous talent, a mediocre QB with an improved shoulder, and a lackluster coaching staff, who are going to get to rest on this one laurel, due to beating a tired chess master with bad chess pieces.

We don’t hate. We pay attention. We ARE paying attention. We are diehard Saints Fans.
