No. It's more like, "I'm not stupid enough to let my seats go unused if I can't make it and I know that I can sell them."

Besides, a sizable chunk of the season tickets in the Dome, and all other facilities, belong to third party brokers. It absolutely doesn't matter to them who is sitting in the seats. The fellow season ticket holders around us that we know said our seats had Saints fans in them for the Lions game. I guess there are Saints fans out there willing and able to spend almost $600 on a pair of ticket still. They are nice front row seats in the club area, however. And we did wait until the last day to sell them hoping we recovered enough (both had the bug) to make the long drives there and back.

The ten seats to the left of us on our row have been third party since we've had ours. They always have different people sitting in them. On occasion visiting fans, but usually Saints fans. Same for others seats in the section. Most visiting fans end up sitting in the lower bowl on the southeast side. The brokers obviously hold a large percentage of those. They have been on the same waiting list as all of the rest of us, scarfing up tickets.

I hope the Saints front office is looking at some of these college bowl games.

Notice how Penix (Washington) doesn't take on many sacks. Find a college coordinator that can scheme well. And Michigan's defense and coaches are good too.

Enough of these retread coaches and coordinators that can't consistently compete.

Keeping things "in tact" is why we are here again.

We've done well in the past with bringing in successful college coaches. I wonder why we went away from that type of thinking?

Nevermind. We like retreads!

Re: Report: Dennis Allen 'is in a good spot' after 14-18 start with Saints

There's probably a 90+% chance DA will be the coach again next year. So I'm trying to find silver linings for 2024 on that. There are a few minor ones.

- While DA is a pretty incapable coach, I don't think he's toxic per-se and tries to run things and act in a manner that completely obliterates the locker room like a Josh McDaniels or Adam Gase.

- We have great leaders on the defensive side of the ball, most notably Demario Davis. Davis has fully taken over the player-leader role that was helmed by Brees at this point, and then some. If you stretch it far enough, it's possible some of Davis' vigor might improve DA's leadership abilities kicking and screaming by way of osmosis. Or at least we're at a point that when the players tune out DA they tune into Davis or the Honey Badger instead as opposed to tuning out altogether.

- The ceiling for DA is to be a caretaker in the mold of Jason Garrett where the players know he's not much to write home about but are generally loyal to him. If DA can do more to bond with his players we have a hope he will be this updated version of Garrett. Garrett at least had a winning record and heck, Garrett coached the Cowboys for 10 years. Surely if Cowboys fans could hold their nose and handle Garrett for 10 years, then we can get through DA for another 1-3 years, right? And by the end of it DA might have a career record in the .400-.500 range. That would actually be a remarkable rehabilitation.

Be careful, neuguy. You're volunteering to be on a sh!t list. At least it might make them forget the Ian Book jersey. Er, I mean, nevermind.

Re: Report: Dennis Allen 'is in a good spot' after 14-18 start with Saints

I've come to the conclusion that no matter how much I want a new head coach Mickey Loomis is bringing DA back for another year. We will get a new OC.

I don't like it, but I've come to terms with reality. Oh well.....Who Dat!

Re: Report: Dennis Allen 'is in a good spot' after 14-18 start with Saints

I have come to the conclusion that if Gayle won't remove any of these incompetent's, perhaps alcoholism, depression, heart disease, STDs, legal problems, affairs, etc will. If they run the rest of their lives in the careless idiotic way they are running the Saints, it is bound to catch up with them at some point. DA is being publicly booed. Mickey Loomis will be soon too. A lot of people cannot handle that psychologically for the long term. Hopefully they can't. Hopefully it reaches a breaking point and they either walk away or snap. The great thing about rooting for these fools to break is that every day there is hope. There is no day that Mickey Loomis could not have one too many and swerve into a canal or something.
