The thing is, a lot of fans who are tired of this regime do not have the energy to contribute on a message board. If you look on the message boards, Derek Carr has a lot of support from some, but in the real games in the dome he did get openly booed by the Saints crowd. So fans who want big changes and don't believe in the direction Mickey Loomis has committed the team to are a large group of fans, enough to take over the dome. And that is even after the fact that just like many disgruntled fans don't have the energy to contribute on the message boards, many also don't want to spend time and money attending games without more to be excited about. So the crowds that openly booed Derek Carr in the dome were probably disproportionately made up of positive pro-Carr, pro-DA, pro-Loomis fans, yet they still booed. When you get into the lowest effort forms of feedback like commenting on a facebook post about the Saints, you see a lot of fans wanting change, who maybe have not seen enough from the franchise the past few years to want to engage on message boards or attend games until there is something to be excited about. Fans who want change are not some small minority, there are many many of us. Whether thats 60% or 40% would cost a lot of money to estimate.
Were you even in a Dome crowd this past season? I was there for every game but one. A small minority of people booed sparingly in one or two games And they caught crap from fans around them. You are so full of hate and crap, dude.

Your SAINTS are full of crap, and you shovel them your money to feed crap to you every time you drive 10 hours round trip to gobble it up. The majority of Saints Fans don’t share your masochistic culinary addiction. It’s not “hate”. It’s a logical, sensible, sane and passionate desire to see the SAINTS PUT A WINNING TEAM ON THE FIELD.

9-8 is a tough one. Next year the NFC south looks so much better. I would say depending on our new OC and Carr's play. If those two work out well I would be more inclined to give another year. If they mix like oil and water, it is time for everyone to kick rocks.

If Kirk Cousins returns to form, our division is much tougher. If Kirk Cousins suffers setbacks and is never the same, our division could actually be easier than in 2023 and I think that given Cousins age and injury there is an about 25% chance of that happening. In the very realistic scenario B where Kirk Cousins is Washington Donovan McNabb, I could see the Falcons motivation completely deflating, the locker room falling apart, Raheem Morris a proven loser head coach losing any confidence of a turnaround he once had, and the Falcons becoming one of the worst teams in the league, losing 13+ games. On the other hand if Cousins is back 100% and lights a fire under Atlanta's roster they could win 13 games.

If I had to guess, Mayfield will get a little worse now that he got paid and Evans is a year older, and the Panthers will still probably be bad but its virtually impossible for Young to get worse without being benched for Dalton, while he could get much better. Trading Burns could make them worse, but again there is not much worse to get and we already beat them twice. If Cousins is still Cousins our division will be harder next year. If Cousins is Washington McNabb, our division may be even easier, and with the harder outside schedule 8-9 games might win it. But then the champ will struggle in the playoffs.

My standard for meaningful success remains a playoff win and non-embarrassment if the second playoff game is a loss. Of course if a team kept doing that every year and never did more it would be a failure but that would make it worth giving it another year for each year we can pull it off.

Personally I'd love for the new offensive staff to bring Penning up to par. I wouldn't mind if we do take a tackle though. I always trust their judgement better than any of ours. They do have far greater insight.

Same mismanagement, different pawns. Their insight couldn’t win the NFC SOUTH DIVISION this past season. Our next season is going to be a mess, and you’ll be chalking it up to “making adjustments during our indefinite REBUILD phase”.
Put the crack pipe down.

I live 1900 miles away and have an 8 year old kid who is in school most of the football season with grandparents in 2 other states besides Louisiana, so its hard to make it to games these days. We all do what we can. I attended the vast majority of games for over a decade and even flew across the country for a couple games a year when I was father away. I attended the Super Bowl, the No Call game, and the game where Brees broke the passing record. Plus, do I really want to pay, not just $200 or whatever for a ticket, but another $500 for a flight, to watch DA and Carr try to shock the world by rising to 1-1 against Baker Mayfield or surviving an epic clash with Gardner Minshew? Unless I am in town anyway, thats a hard sell to watch the greatest show on chopping wood.

I did attend the preseason game against the Chargers last season. I would have liked to attend the regular season game against the Rams but a weeknight game just before Christmas was difficult timing. The game started at 515PM PST so I would have had to take time off work to get into the stadium on time. I planned to go if the team was on a role but 11 days before the game the Saints were 5-7 and when they made it back to 7-7 four days before the game, it was a little late to request time off work.
iceshack149 and Sinner like this.
