REPORT: The New Orleans Saints’ Former 1st-Round Pick Is Healthy Ahead of Training Camp

I felt really good going into last year,” said Turner, who had 29 career tackles and three sacks. “Unfortunately, the first game I had that toe injury. I did have an offseason back procedure. I’m feeling good. I’m feeling healthy right now and I’m ready to get after it this year.

“The only thing you can do in this league is control what you can control. So, I’ve had some bad luck with some injuries. I’ve taken this year and last year and fine-tuned my process, my routine. I feel like I’m in a good spot heading into this year. I’m excited to see what I can do
.”

We shall see.

Brandon Aiyuk.

Would you sign him for say 4 years at $110MM?

K Major 07-22-2024 02:37 PM

Re: Official 2024 Training Camp Discussion

Negative. I'd worry about giving up a draft pick for Brandon, in addition to that high salary. The Saints are a few losses away from "rebuild mode". I wouldn't want to commit that much to just one player.

FWIW, he listed (Pitt & The Commanders) his "preferred destinations" a while back. NOLA wasn't on his list.

I was really high on BA coming out of college though.

This weather is nothing compared to the heat Dennis Allen should be taking with that attitude. Why is this dud still here again?

AND THIS >>> Declined to get into negotiating specifics but recognized that Kamara has contract goals.

Probably his last... we'll see.

Still not bad for a guy SP didn't want to draft, among other LSU players.
Still don't understand why SP gave up on Al Woods.

This isn't the 1980's. :D

Players like Mathieu, Demario, and Cam train year round and are in better shape than ever. PFF has Mathieu ranked as their 10th best safety in the entire league for the 2024 season.

No. In the 80s there was hope ahead for a Championship Season, even if it came 30 years later. Here in 2024, we’re seriously looking at a slow and humiliating burn into total obscurity, and the inevitable death of a franchise and a whole culture. I don’t think you have any idea of what’s actually at stake here.

The first 6 games of 2024 should give us the answer.

The best indicator of future performance is past performance. I get why you're down on the likelihood of a winning season.

Fortunately the franchise made changes. TBD if they were enough to succeed.

Our only choice is to wait and see how they pan out.

Hurts, Dak, Hebert, Cousins & Baker TWICE & of course the league MVP.

That pass rush better be good.

We have a lame HEAD COACH, and a throwaway DUD for a Quarterback. The franchise made changes to the window dressing in a building that has no electricity.

Open question. There's a lot of variables going on with Kamara right now:

1. Is he going to insist on new money? It's a tough decision to add new money to a soon to be 30 year old back that is more than 2 years from a really solid season.

2. How does he fit in Kubiak's system. It's unclear how that's going to go.

I hope the strategy that everyone can agree on is to extend the time, but no new money. I'm not sure it can be done.

The Saints smart play is to hold the line on any new money and if they can't come to an agreement, then just let Kamara's current contract run it's course.

I guess we will see.

Absolutely. 4-2 with 3 division wins and an upset sets the team up pretty good. 1-5 and looking bad in the process sinks the season. I'm still evaluating 3-3 with 3 division wins.
