I like Jayden Higgens also.

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

The saints met with several prospects ao far, but two later round players that grabbed my attention that they met with are Eugene Asante- LB Auburn and Pat Bryant- WR Illinois. Bryant has really good hands(only 1.8% drop rate last season) and Asante is a very fast player and a great tackler. These two look like some serious ballers and could possibly contribute quickly.

This guy was looking at the betting odds of Cam Ward going to different teams. Saints went from 200 to 1 a few days ago, to 100 to 1 the next day, and then down to 26 to 1 a day or two later. Vegas knows something.

I’d be surprised if the Titans didn’t select Cam Ward.

I wonder if coaches have these visits with top QB prospects just to learn of the players they've faced, who are the best pass-catchers, CBs and lineman.

That and the process of elimination for the future. That was talked about a couple of weeks ago on NFL Radio. It was shared that very few of the visits actually had any relevance to the immediate interest in drafting the players.
They said most teams already have decided who they want without the need for any "visit". Questioning about other players the visitors have faced is reportedly very common. Some visits are simply to throw off the sense of interest to other franchises, giving the false impression that the team is seriously considering a player they have no desire in drafting whatsoever.

It was pretty interesting in that you come away thinking there is really nothing you can surmise as a fan by the fact of who has made team visits.

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

Andrew Armstrong - WR
Arkansas

Big guy @ 6’4, played against top tier SEC talent weekly.

Over 1100 receiving yards in 2024. X receiver, possession type (doesn’t drop many), chain mover & capable blocker. Not really talked about a lot.

Could be a sleeper pick.

Projects as a Day 3 selection.

Nice find. He's impressive, especially for a guy nobody talks about.

FWIW, LSU’s Pro Day was on yesterday (3/26).

Hope Jeff Ireland & co took a final, quick look at TE Mason Taylor.

IMO, he checks a lot of boxes & will translate well to the NFL.

There is a ton of talent in Baton Rouge …

Big fan of Taylor. I’d be totally fine taking him instead of Warren

If we don't trade up, our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds could produce very good players.

Agreed. I’m hoping we trade down and grab an additional 2nd and maybe more

“Experts” have them going with Jeanty. I can’t see them going with a qb with Geno there

If this team drafts Sanders or sacrifices future first rounders for Ward, please help us all.
The influencers are becoming a big problem.

Weak-minded GM's are ultimately to blame.

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

Stay put at 9, select the best player on the board.

Oline, dline, WR … whatever. We need quality players & year 1 contributors.

Remember Sean P added almost 25 players back in 06 to remake the team. Coach Moore won’t be able to do this in one season, so I see at minimum a two year process.

Just need two healthy drafts, back to back and they can add 7- 10 new players in each draft, then some bonus free agents in each year.

Hitting on those 2025/26 draft picks becomes paramount for the long term success of the franchise.

Unfortunately I've heard it numerous times before now.

We are not trading up to pick Sanders. You heard it here (for about the 100th time):p

Always is... Saints just lost their way of late in their drafts. Let's hope for a bumper crop this year and next.

Yup! This is the time of year, especially since the advent of world wide web blogging, that shovels full of assorted excrement are tossed toward the media walls to see what might adhere. Those walls are extremely slick and washed regularly once the league year advances.

Some might argue that the lack of ability to develop those draft choices may have had a hand in the failures.

Re: Turning Attention to the Draft

Don’t forget guys I did call a trade up in the first round of the draft a few years ago! I think I even won the draft contest that year? I really do think they are willing to give up #9 this year and our next 2 first rounders to land Ward! The 2027 1st rounder could change to a couple of lower picks to make the value for the Titans more than reasonable for both parties!

This is a huge red flag and I hope the Saints avoid him.

Sorry I always struggle with posting from the Twitter.

Per Nick Underhill regarding ASU WR McMillan:
Quote:

This is a big question to answer for someone who could be an option for the Saints at No. 9.

McMillan says in this clip that he doesn't watch football, struggles to watch film and never watches it by himself.

Do you use computer or a phone? If you are using a computer click on the three dots at the upper right of the X post. Choose the option:

Scroll up and you'll see a box titled "What would you like to embed?"

Copy the text in the box and simply post that in the thread here.

With the cap situation, the needs of this team, that would be utter suicide. So Loomis will probably do it. He's as much a moron you can find in football.
