Re: Saints 2025 Off-Season Roster Moves
I wonder if Moore may bring in Tanner McKee, third string QB of the Eagles. McKee went to Stanford and is very smart, played very well in relief for the Eagles this year, threw 4 TDs and 0 INTs, is only 24 years old, and is 6'6 with a strong arm. Moore and McKee are both Mormon, honestly look similar to each other, and McKee praised Moore's coaching when he left. McKee's development was somewhat curtailed by completing his Mormon mission to Brazil and by having to work on improving his unconventional throwing motion, much like some other QBs who were slower to develop, hiding their true potential. Ultimately McKee has the size, strength, and smart and has a connection to the coach that could make him worth a shot as Kellen Moore's Tony Romo.

Re: Saints 2025 Off-Season Roster Moves
What's one more WEAPON to give away? Imagine one of the other teams in "NFC GOIN SOUTH DIVISION!! sweeping the Saints next season. Even worse, he reunites with Sean Payton! One would think an "OFFENSIVE GENIUS" would want a one of a kind threat like Taysom Hill. |

Re: Saints 2025 Off-Season Roster Moves
I hate to say it but if we would save anything over 5 million I would post June 1st cut Carr. I am sure this would set us back another year but 50 million is a lot of money in a QB that gets hurt often.

Re: Saints 2025 Off-Season Roster Moves
Taysom Hill is 35yo coming off a torn ACL and set to make $10 million. He has a long injury history dating back to college that has only ebbed with very limited usage. Our offense around him is chaotic due to a poor oline and poor QB play. If we pay Taysom the $10 million to come back, that won’t mean we have Taysom for 17 games and if another team signs him it wont mean they have him for 17 games. We are not contenders and we owe it to Taysom to give him a chance to play for a contender this year, not for a weaker version of a division he has already won several times, but for an actual contender.

Re: Saints 2025 Off-Season Roster Moves
It would save $30-40 million to post-june-1 Carr depending on how his new contract effects offset language. If he signs elsewhere for at least 10-20mil per year, and i predict he gets 20-25, we save 40 mil. However, the long term cost of keeping him this year is 40 mil, not 50. 50 is a meaningless cap charge number that relates to debt from past bonuses and restructures and past of that is sunk cost.

Taysom is destined for Saints HOF. Incredible, all time favorite I'll remember forever.
But it's time to get younger and allocate those dollars to fixing holes in the roster. |
