Can't wait to see it. Similar to Leonard Floyd in the Rams defense. Although 240lbs, he could play the run as well as rush the qb.

It seemed like a lot to pay. He'll need to start looking like a great 3-4 OLB for this to be worth it. Think Terrell Suggs.

I guess we have to keep a fair number of Ohio State guys around!

That team was stacked, so drafting some of them wouldn't be a bad idea. And I am NOT an Ohio State fan.

So, Saunders (Binky) and Shepherd are both staying on the D-line.

Nick Underhill

Carl Granderson, Cesar Ruiz and Khalen Saunders restructured their contracts

We back from the dead bruh. Only valid argument is whether or not the money was well spent.

Time and health will tell the story.
But there is no valid argument the money was well spent. We retained everyone from the worst interior dline against the run in the league. We spent $40 million to keep a QB who alienates half the fan base and hasnt won a playoff game in his 11 year career and is coming off 4 injuries in 2 years at age 34. If we wanted to alienate half our fan base, at least Kaepernick would have been cheaper and has won playoff games.

There was never any doubt we could get under the cap. It was just a matter of whether we kicked the can or burned down the house to do it. There was no way to get under the cap while unloading the wrong players AND adding the right players. That is the problem with Mickey’s system. Now we have Kellen Moore coaching Payton and Allens players.

Places him in the middle of the pack in terms of DE contracts.

At current production, that's a value.

If he improves incrementally (consider our new D Line coach) then we have an absolute steal.

Time will tell.

Don't judge these moves in a vacuum. Let free agency and draft play out before determining whether these incremental moves led to an improved overall team.

Here we go again... OVER paying for a good (but not great) player when we have so many other needs.

I HATE LOOMIS!

I hear you brother, seems absolutely insane but salaries are so inflated.

That amount per year isn’t that much for a DE nowadays.

The top DE contract right now is damn near 40M a year !!
