this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; PS- Manning being hurt has nothing to do with the Colts poor showing on defense.[/QUOTE] Yep. The Colts are also missing their best LB Brackett and DB Bullit who are on IR....

The one thing I don't agree on is that we're one injury away from being the Colts. We have more depth and talent than they do. They've historically over the past decade had a average offensive line and a terrible interior line on the defensive side of the ball(where football games are won). Their vets are aging and we plenty of youth and athleticism on both sides sides. If Brees were to go down, I believe this team can hover around being a .500 team. The Colts are 0-7.

We are fairly young at most positions. C. Daniels could be the next best thing, he's being schooled by the best thing. The O- line will get 1-2 players younger next year so will the D, my concern is DT and recievers, we have the best recievers in the league, but Payton will always want new toys. A young DT will be a must, I wish we got one last year for S.Rodgers to teach. Got to reload or it's back to the old days,I don't want to be there again.

Chase is improving a lot. I won't go out on a limb yet and call him a Drew Brees clone. However, I think Chase is far better then Curtis Painter!

We are two to three years from having to make this decision. For now Chase is good enough.
