I doubt Goodell will let Payton appeal...

I think that this is something the team will rally around. The two 2nd round picks isn't bad, I was expecting worse. Losing Payton for a year is tough but Carmichael called the plays last year after Payton hurt his knee and Spags is more than capable of stepping into the interim HC/DC job. We'll be fine.
I do think that within the next week, the front office needs to make a strong push to get Drew signed to a long term deal so he can show his support for the team and Coach Payton. It will make it all the more sweeter in the end when Goodell has to hand us the Lombardi trophy in New Orleans at the end of the season. |

Let's hope it winds up in court just like the supplemental ban. Those guys played for a couple of years.

Hope somehow we make it to the SB and we can get that commissioner ******* in Louisiana or Mississippi. Even if we don't get there he will not be welcome in this town after letting the Pat's off like he did for out and out cheating. Knew there was something to pay for what was going on but to me this is ridiculous. Every other team has been involved with this to some point so the punishment does not fit the crime. More motivation for the players to slap him back in his face. It will be all the sweeter to make it back despite these penalities

Wow. My phone was blowing in the middle of an exam and my patient and I had to stop to discuss this lol.
Goodell certainly dropped the hammer down on us to set an example and though it was harsh, we'll be okay. The foundation is already set and as long as Drew is on board, Carmichael and Spags will get the job done. We still have the appeal process and I do have faith Payton's suspension will be reduced. We'll be alright. But DAYYYYAMMMMMM... did it make my jaw drop when I heard the news. |
