Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Potential Trade Partners with two picks in the second round and Trade Values:
New Orleans - 1.15(15) [1050] Cincinnati - 2.5(37)[530] (from OAK), 2.21(53) [370], 3.22(86) [160] = [1060] Miami - 2.10(42) [480], 2.22(54) [360] (from IND), 3.15(47) [195], 3.20(52) [170]* = [1035] *Miami 3.20 pick Not Included in Total Points Trading Down, Miami Scenario... As much as I want Ogletree, we should be huddling with Cincy or Miami... We could trade down and secure very fine talent at a number of positions... Saints/Bengals Trade Scenario Saints trade rights to RB Chris Ivory and pick 1.15 (15) for Dolphins' picks 2.10 (42), 2.22 (54 from IND), 3.15 (77) 2013 Saint's Draft Mock (Jeanpierre) [Updated 2013/04/09] 2.10 (42) CB David Amerson, NC State R2 Forfeit 2.22 (54 from IND) LB Jaime Collins, So. Miss* 3.13 (75) OL Barrett Jones, Bama 3.15 (77) OT David Quessenberry, San Jose State 4.12 (109) LB Chase Thomas, Stanford 5.11 (144) DE Joe Kruger, Utah 6.15 (183) DT Kwame Geathers, Georgia *Ogletree is currently trending at an average of 38th overall (He's a First Rounder To Me); if Ogletree isn't there as he shouldn't be, I'd select 2.10 (42) CB CB David Amerson, NC State who would be a press coverage CB, and his 6'2" 215# frame meets size specifications for an ideal cornerback (oh no he didn't)... |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
Thats a nice draft.
Should have the choice of at least two of Queenberry,Armstead or Faulk at that early 3rd rounder. |

Doubt Fluker will be there in the second round... Swap the slots you'd take Barrett and Margus and that is very plausible... Terron Armstead will be gone by mid second round... Swap the slots of Hughes and Faulk, and that too should be there... Geathers should still be there in Round 5... Round 6, WTH? BPA? You better find us a real name soldier! Quote:

Also, being able to move lineman around could be yet another nightmare for opposing defense to deal with... Both those young men are athletic and can move, which I prize in an offensive lineman... |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
OL Barrett Jones looks to be starting the season out on PUP list. so he should drop a bit.
2.21 (53)DT Margus Hunt/Jonathon Hankins still not sold on either one. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board
2.21 Brandon Williams
Geathers is going to be a bust. Use the fifth round pick for a quarterback. |

That's really good news, since the Saints wouldn't need him to step in immediately and could, therefore, easily invest a lower round pick to get Jones for the future (aka 2014 to replace DLP). Now, it would seem maybe wasteful to pick a player who's likely to land on the PUP when the Saints have limited number of picks and a number of positions to fill. But Barrett Jones is another one of those players along with Faulk who would be a higher pick in any other year with less O-line talent, and if he were in a better health condition. To me, hitting the sweet-spot between investing in the future while also addressing current needs is the way a franchise can continue to "be in the hunt" year after year. Hunt, Amerson, and Collins would all be good 2nd round picks for the Saints, IMO. |
