I can't believe that they have Mingo falling that for to the Saints if he's there get him.

Really don't want Mingo...

...he's a "tweener" and that cries "specialist" and do not want to spend a first round pick on that...

...he's already twenty-four (24) years old...

...he disappeared this past season compared to last and didn't make the adjustments to continue to have an impact...

...we already have similar players on the squad in Galette, we need a better fit in the new 3-4 OLB...

That's cool... I can see why. Certainly there's a bust factor there that can't be ignored.

That's fair.

He's 22. You might be thinking Jarvis Jones here.

He was asked to play a specific role last year... contain. It's well documented.

Galette has no where near the athletic ability or potential that Mingo possess.

Papz, mea culpa, found article, source and I did make a mistake and you are correct that Mingo is 22 and Jarvis Jones is 24...

Try to make do with a mixture of Jones,Brown and Smith?

Lee...wait for it...Hagan will be starting the UDFA thread during the draft and you will hear of universities, community colleges that you never knew existed...

...and there you will find our Left Tackle...

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board

ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi believes the Browns will trade one of OLB/DE Jabaal Sheard or DE/DT Ahtyba Rubin.

Sheard and Rubin aren't believed to be great fits for the new 3-4 scheme, and both players are young and skilled enough to bring back some value. Sheard, 24 next month, has 15.5 sacks in his two seasons. Rubin, 26, goes 6-foot-2 and 330 pounds, and he is strong versus the run with a bit of pass rush skill. The Browns are without a second-round pick, so that's likely the asking price.

If we were able to move a mid round pick for Rubin, I'd love the move. I'm not exactly sure how he's going to fit, but if we're going to take a down lineman in the mid rounds, Rubin would be much more enticing. I can remember wanting him in the '08 draft.

The best execution of the 3-4 in the NFL was the Sidwell Saints Defense from '86 to '94...

The defensive line featured a rotation of:

93 Wayne Martin
69 Les Miller
73 Frank Warren
94 Jim Wilks

Other than once with Martin, they were not Probowlers, but the three man fronts would disrupt the oppositions blocking schemes and allow the four All-Pro Linebackers to wreak havoc, creating sacks, fumbles, interceptions and defensive touchdowns...

The Saints front just needs to use three defensive lineman to occupy five-six blockers to gain an advantage of linebackers attacking quarterbacks and running backs...

Right now, we do have a need for five technique tackle/ends...
