this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Don't call it Ingram haters... his performance warranted it. One game against a D like Dallas doesn't make him a pro-bowler just yet unless we get to play Dallas every week. But I do home that this game helped him ...

One game against a D like Dallas doesn't make him a pro-bowler just yet unless we get to play Dallas every week. But I do home that this game helped him with his vision and got him to see and understand what he has to do for us. Also keep in mind Dallas had no LB's. |

Re: NEW Mark Ingram thread (post Dallas)
I don't care what kind of defense Dallas has I was so happy for Ingram to finally get something. I cheered for him during those runs harder than I have cheered for anyone this season. I didn't care about the penalty he got after his first big run and I felt like he finally got the weight of the world off of his shoulders when he got that touchdown and slid to his knees!

No one is calling him a pro-bowler. His vision wasn't as much of the problem as being surrounded by 3 defenders 1 micro-second after getting the hand-off was. The O-line was opening holes, and he did what he was supposed to do. |

Re: NEW Mark Ingram thread (post Dallas)
Its more of an acid test for the O-line than it is for Ingram.

Great game by Mark. Didn't like the excessive emotion at the beginning of the game but he got it out of his system.
I know the Dallas D was injured and exhausted last night, but we might have found something with that jumbo-I formation and the blocking scheme to create holes for MI and PT. We may not pile up yards like last night often but the important thing is I think we found the running scheme that works best for this offensive line and Collins. |

I wonder if Sean looked at the forum and decided to shut us up.. bravo Sean. I think if we have this good of a performance again the media and us as fans might go ballistic.

I loved his performance. I hated that some people in the crowd booed him at the beginning. Like Hagan's signature says, "True fans don't boo."
If this is a sample of what's to come, the Saints are going to be extremely tough to beat. |

Re: NEW Mark Ingram thread (post Dallas)
Where are the MI haters now? Right here. He had a great game last night, and good on him and he doesn't even need to blow up for 145 every week for me to give him props. He needs to 1) get the critical short yardage plays for first downs & TDs consistently 2) hold on to the freakin ball consistently 3) catch the ball out of the backfield consistently 4) block in pass protection consistently 5) leans forward through his runs consistently
See what I did there? Consistently is your key word. O-line can use a dose of it too. We put up 120 yards or more rushing (and I could care less who gets them) in each game versus SF, CAR X 2, and SEA, I will be one happy dude. |

Its quite logical that with a good hole, any back could run. |
