AB in Saints HoF

If you look at our past... I say he deserves it.

He Did his job as a back up and won us our first play off game EVER to that point. He played brilliant and eventually it all falls apart for everyone. Our O line shares part of the blame for the debacle.

I have great memories of watching him play and he was a Saint... once a Saint always a Saint.

Re: AB in Saints HoF

I don't have a problem with AB in the Saints HOF.

I believe that if Hakim hadn't "...dropped the ball" the Rams would have won that game.

Brooks was Michael Vick before there was a Michael Vick and IMO the Saints trying to make him a pocket passer is what ruined him.

BH is in it. Some times we do celebrate mediocrity.

Let's not get high on our success, there are many years I would have given away a kidney for mediocrity.

Re: AB in Saints HoF

"my brain just vomited, because I thought.....well, yeah, I guess he does.

I will type it..... but none of you could ever make me speak it.

Yes, put him in.

Dear Lord, I can't believe I just typed that."

That is what I wrote back on 1 June 2010.

I think a lot of people are missing the most obvious point to this.

This is the New Orleans Saints HoF. Not the NFL's HoF.

Now, I wasn't a fan of AB's during his last couple of years with the team. I down right cussed him the entire game. He is an important player to remember, IN SAINTS HISTORY. I'm not saying put a bronze statue of him out in front of the Dome, but he was good enough to make OUR HoF.

Now, if you will exuse me. I need to go to the doctor and get seen about for this AB love I'm showing.

Congrats Aaron.

I hate the guy. Always did. As much as I hate to admit it though I think the qb who got us our first postseason win should get a bone.

Re: AB in Saints HoF

An AB story I'll never forget, mostly...

We lost an important game and everyone was blaming AB for the loss, including the boobs on WWL. The coaches were irritated enough to invite Buddy D and company to a film review and show him exactly what the plays were, and exactly where AB was supposed to throw the ball to, and exactly where the WR was supposed to be but wasn't.

The very next day Buddy D admitted on air that yes, the plays in question were NOT AB's fault at all.

Two days later he's back on air blaming AB for those plays.

Thats when I became thoroughly convinced that Buddy D was an idiot.

I remember that. People forget - more likely they choose to ignore - just what a bad team, particularly on defense, we were. Had we not had a Cajon homer...cut by something like 3 other NFL coaches already...waiting in the wings, maybe it would have been different.

And what's the first thing Jake did after his first season starting for carolina? He demanded more money. Oh how they roasted Brooks for that very thing.

Fact is he was one of the best things going back then. And that 3-13 record wasn't that the post Katrina no home games season?

Yes the haters (morons) gonna hate. Hate on, because yalls ignorance is showing. Much like Buddy's often did...but then I could never tell if he was sober...

Re: AB in Saints HoF

No one his a moron on this thread. Look here saps:

One of the best Saints players in history: NOT
QB of one of the greatest games in Saints history: YES

So it really depends on what you want from the Saints HOF. Just great players or great players + players from amazing moments in Saints history.

Float on....
