He had the top number for DL in the benchpress; kid just needs to be coached up... Also like the Maryland NT (Kilgo); the Florida St kid (Orr) just got frustrated, but he's got the physical attributes... We definitely need to draft a replacement for Bunkley... |

Re: 2015 draft??
I added a bio of Dupree. This kid is perfect for the 5 technique DE. He was the 2nd fastest of the DE/OLB only to Beasley by lessthan 0.03 and he outweighs Beasley by more than 20 lbs(240 Beasley, 269 Dupree). Read about him in the post I submitted.

Re: 2015 draft??
Dupree is better suited to a 4-3 defensive end weakside (lined up on the outside shoulder of an unprotected (no tightend) left tackle...
When Steve Sidwell nearly perfected the 3-4 some twenty-five-plus years ago, we had three big, tall defensive tackles, ends whos' role was to just occupy blockers and protect, allow our big, fast 6' 2" linebackers, Sam Mills excepted, to come in and make plays... Guys like Jim Wilks, Tony Elliot, Bruce Clark, with Frank Warren, Jumpy Geathers rotating in, keeping all the big guys fresh... When three big, fresh men with depth rotating can occupy five, six blockers on the opponents offensive line, you've won the line of scrimmage... Let me repeat, you've won the line of scrimmage and the advantage is there for your big, fast linebackers to annihilate the opposing passer, rusher and create those fortuitous turnover opportunities... Beasley, Harold, Mauldin are ideal OLB candidates for a 3-4 front... Ray, Gregory, Dupree are your Chris Doleman/Dwight Freeney 4-3 defensive ends to try to create havoc on passing downs, but can be beaten when you run against them... Was really excited when Payton stated he wanted to move to the 3-4 front, and have been equally disappointed in the effort, pace and personnel moves to get the defense to that point... Drafting Dupree, Ray, Gregory is a step backwards... |

Re: 2015 draft??
I have some new receivers to list.
I only watched four here ranked 11-14 I really like this guy 1. And he can do this And this There was one video of him fumbling however it was a lateral pass by a receiver that led to it and he did not even appear to catch it. As for this guy, he may have not been Stanford's top receiver 2. But he's basically a special teams athlete And he fumbles However it's better than the next two here 3. 4. I really like Hardy most of this group and he's a small guy with good frame. Like Cooks. |

Re: 2015 draft??
I guess you missed the part where it states that this kid is equally adept playing both the run and the pass. Also remember the name Wayne Martin? He wasn't a big DE like Frank Warren, Jumpy Geathers and the others(about 6'4, 285), but he has well over 70 sacks playing for us. The thing I'm saying is this, the 3-4 Sidwell ran is different from the one we currently run. This one is more attack from the D-Line, under Sidwell it was more read and react. Dupree would fit in.

Now whatever is recorded for posterity (college playing weights, heights) and seeing those guys up close and personal, I can tell you as a first account witness that Wayne Martin with regards to physical frame was waaaaay bigger than Warren, Geathers, Wilks (maybe)... My point is that you get big, mammoth, space-eating monsters to occupy blockers and allow your 6-2/6-4 linebackers to zone-blitz randomly and attack the passer/rusher... And we've really not run the 3-4...at least, not yet...and that's because we don't have the personnel... |

looking for a round 3 WR myself
NELSON AGHOLOR USC 6001 185 4.42 ranked as a round 2 now? trade back into 2? grrrr how about a Mr Everything? Tony Lippett WR/CB/FS/KR Michigan State 6034 198 pro day 4.46 seconds to 4.52 Similarly, wideout Tony Lippett enjoyed a strong performance during positional drills, showing off impressive fluidity for his 6-foot-2 (and 5/8"), 191 frame and also catching the ball well. Lippett is a solid second-tier receiver prospect but some clubs see him projecting even better at cornerback, where he played occasionally for the Spartans. Following the workout, Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio had this to say about his versatile pass-catcher. "I heard one scout say [Lippett] has hawk awareness. He can pick the ball up at the blink of an eye and determine where it's going and pick it. I really think today opened a lot of people's eyes." love players from 3 on that can play multi positions to make the club 2015 NFL Draft: Five Takeaways from this week's Pro Day workouts - CBSSports.com |

Re: 2015 draft??
And we can't run the 3-4 effectively with only one 5 technique DE in Cameron Jordan. Akiem Hicks is a DT/NT. Thats what he was in college and what he was originally drafted to be when we drafted him. By taking Dupree and making him a fulltime 3-4 DE, that would allow us to move Akiem to his natural position of NT and that will go a long way towards shoreing up both the run and pass defenses. Trust me, Dupree will be a defensive line stud for years to come.
