Re: 2015 draft??
back on the radar round 5/6 a Scott Fujita clone? just a bit more athletic. nailed all the shuttles and the cones the combine but 4.7 40? i only watched a few byu games and he always stood out.
OLB Alani Fua BYU. 6046 236 4.7 to 4.5 in the forty at pro day Still, the 6-foot-5, 238-pound father of two had one last little thing to prove — that he is faster than the 4.73-second time he posted in the 40-yard dash at the combine. "Mission accomplished," Fua said after running something around a 4.5 in the 40 at BYU's Indoor Practice Facility in front of representatives of at least 28 NFL teams. "I felt like I improved everything that I wanted to come out and improve. So it was a successful day." BYU football: Former Cougars show their stuff at Pro Day in Provo | The Salt Lake Tribune Strengths Extremely versatile and often moved around the field in a single game. Rushed passer from the slot, A- gap and outside linebacker spot. Fluid in space. Frequently covered slot receivers. Good awareness in zone coverage. Zeroes in on target and tackles with consistency. Long rusher with burst off snap and acceleration to close. Takes a tight track to quarterback as rusher, playing with lean and leverage to squeeze the pocket. Can slip blocks, but generally leveraged his gap against run. Weaknesses Hybrid player lacking NFL-caliber edge-setting size and strength. Doesn't have enough explosive power behind his pads to convert speed to power as pass rusher. Primarily a run-and-rip rusher who must develop his hands and a counter move. Appears to study the play rather than being a reactive, instinctive player. Had a bad habit of coming under some blocks, losing outside contain. Bottom Line Angular outside linebacker prospect with impressive burst off the snap. He's in need of more bulk before he can be counted on to take on NFL run blockers. Fua could post impressive numbers at the NFL Scouting Combine, and he is a wild card who can be moved around the field by a creative defensive coordinator, but he still needs time to grow into his tall frame and become a more polished pass rusher. Re: 2015 draft??
Love it... I really wanted Van Noy last year so this guy is intriguing. Admittedly I've never heard of him so thanks for the heads up man!

Re: 2015 draft??
I was gonna edit my post above to ask this question but for some reason Safari is closing on my iphone whenever I hit the edit button... So here's another post to ask my fellow draft freaks what you think of Preston Smith? Seems to be a fringe first rounder but I don't know much about him. Opinions?

Re: 2015 draft??
Preston Smith, DE, Mississippi State
Height: 6-4. Weight: 271. 40 Time: 4.74. Projected Round (2015): 2-3. 3/7/15: At the Combine, Smith had a quality 40 time and workout. He looks to have solidified his stock as a second-day pick between his Combine, Senior Bowl and final season of tape. Smith was one of the Bulldogs' top defenders who led a tough defense in 2014.For the year, he had 48 tackles with 15 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, two forced fumbles, three passes broken up and two interceptions. Smith looked greatly improved over his junior year when he had 44 tackles and 2.5 sacks. As a sophomore, Smith totaled 35 tackles and 4.5 sacks. |

Re: 2015 draft??
Okay this is the last list I'll do for receivers. These 9 in order from best to worst among these.
1.Chris Conley 2.Kenny Bell 3.Austin Hill 4.Titus Davis 5.Vince Mayle 6.Darren Waller 7.Stefon Diggs 8.Tre McBride 9.Dezmin Lewis The first three I like the best. Chris Conley, another SEC receiver that could be gotten later than first. Kenny Bell and Austin Hill were the next standouts to me. |
