Had the Saints not signed him to that, he could have easily eclipsed it on the open market. Granted, another team likely would have structured it differently so that the cap hits were not so dramatic in the last two years. But, the Saints needed space those first three years and structured it so they could receive it. So, if the Saints willingly signed that contract it proved he was worth it. Why should they come to him now asking him to reduce what he is being paid?
