+1. I think it's a matter of time before this guy gets promoted to the next level.

Clemson had over 500 yards of total offense (Deshaun Watson is an incredible QB). Does that mean Bama's defense is bad? Brent is a very good defensive mind & has built something special there.

Just ask Stephone Anthony .

It means their defense could've been a hell of a lot better. If we're talking about giving up 50 yard plays all night long on the Clemson side or pretty much complete failure to contain the quarterback on the Alabama side, then we should just as well have kept Rob or Gregg. They were both pretty good at both of those. They also could keep another team scoreless for a quarter.

Clemson had more luck, some good players and a reasonable schedule than a "special" defensive scheme this year. Bama's defense had a better showing this year, but they did show a lack of being able to adjust at halftime last night. The sign of a good pro coach is a different, better team coming out after half time.

Our defense, our team deserves more than a project DC coming out of a college just like they deserve more than a project in the first three rounds of the draft.

; Your story isn't over yet ;

Some of that was special teams and much of Bama's yardage came on big gash plays...

Look even the No.1 team in the nation, at least until last night, doesn't have NFL-caliber players at every position...

But Bama had to work their arse's off for every yard; this was a fantastic battle of two very evenly matched teams...

I think Morton (WR coach) did a nice job last season but would you bring Curtis Johnson back ?

Well, this is where I will say that other kid is right - we don't know how well he's progressed since joining the staff, with regards to organizational, communication and coaching skills...

But the results are there, in so far as he took a Reserve/Devlopmental CastOff, Willie Snead, and made him a nearly 1000 rec yd receiver...

Now how much of that is player, coaching and/or system?!? Regardless, results were there...

And then Coleman was able to step up in place of an injured Colston and had some moments, even with those untrustworthy stonehands...

So where you'd put Curtis Johnson with the WR corps producing?!?

And that's despite having your No. 1 in twilight, a budding star with limited size, and an underneath, average-speed route runner, and that's about it...

If we'd had a middle of the road defense we'd be in the playoffs. With our offense a middle of the road defense is good enough although I'd rather have a great defense.
