This wouldn't surprise me at all. He now knows his market value. An aging Evans would be far better in my book than raw rookie any day.

I didn't say draft one just to draft one. There are quality guards at this point of the draft. It's one of the few positions that you can find value late in the draft. This team desperately needs guard help. They didn't select the best player available, they selected a project, whom they hope they can coach up. This team has made a ton of mistakes in recent years, trying the project route.

Yeah i reckon you now get the Brees extension and Evans and Kevin Williams brought back in. Both would make sense another id like to kick the tires on is Sammie Lee Hill NT(former Titan/Lions)

Typically fans being underwhelmed means great drafts. So that's awesome.

How do you know he is a "project"? Because you heard some media type say so? How can you know that he isn't far closer than some believe. If he is so unknown how could people know he is a project. And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the main objective of a DE to get to the QB? How much coaching up does that take if you are already proficient at it?

Yup. Underwhelmed can also mean lack of understanding which is normal since none us are "in the know".

This is true. Another reason to hold off on a Brees extension until after the draft.

I dont think the LB were there in depth this year. Alot of 220lbers

I think its Anthony-Laurinaitis-Robertson this year.
You cant fix all the holes in one draft unless youve got the trade bait like the Browns and Titans

Lets be honest
-----Robertson-Laurinaitis-Anthony
Jordan--Rankins--Fairley--Richardson

Looks far better than what was on the field last year

Im fine with all of that except Richardson... Richardson is a practice squad player at best, if he turns out to be the starter again I won't have much hope for the D.

Because he's from a college in canada, and there is nothing he has ever faced in his life that is close to what he will face now? Could that make him a project, maybe? And since when did calling someone a project mean that no one could know who he is? You think that's what constitutes a project? C'mon man, you can't be serious on that one.

And who said he was proficient at getting to the QB? He had five sacks last year, from what I can find on him. Against THAT competition.

He is absolutely, 100% a project, and if you try to argue any other way you are clearly trolling.

They are going with his athleticism, and banking on the hope that they can develop him. Maybe they will. I would have much preferred to see them take a guy like Connor McGovern, instead of a project. Why? Because guard is a need that is beyond pressing.

Not with this organization. Not in a few years. I'm ok with this draft overall, but that last pick... Was questionable.
