Kikaha is 250 pounds, TE's/FB's can block him out of his shoes... He has never shown to be able to set the edge in college. His whole claim to fame was that he was a terrific pass rusher, not an every down player.

He's a project, and will continue to be until he proves something. All rookies have something to prove, but this kid comes from freaking Canada. How did Akiem Hicks work out there, smart guy?

I see the athleticism, and it's interesting. But there are times to take chances, and times to fill glaring needs. Now, any draft pick can be a bust. But you have to play the percentages.

more than half did bother though so that's saying something , maybe guard isn't as glaring as you think it is or whatever pos you felt like we should've drafted instead

I'm not talking about going to Indiana. I'm talking about going to Canada.

Its doesnt matter who you take in these rounds. Some will be good others gone in a couple of years. Looks like we went with the guy with a big upside but bust potential rather than a safer lower cieking higher floor

Kinda been what I've been thinking. Maybe they know what they are doing instead of throwing darts with a blindfold as a small minority around here think.

So while starting in the NFL up until his ankle injury was Kikaha was "valuable" against the run, and I've seen plenty of DE big and small get blocked by TE RBs & FBs what's your point because I on numerous occasions "set the edge"

Kikaha was a 250 pound 3-4 OLB LB! With Dennis Allen, we're transitioning back to a 4-3 which means a move back to DE which is what he played in college. And show me A 250 pound NFL DE who is able to consistently set the edge?

I'd rather have a project at the position that requires the least amount of technique and intuition (DT) than say, trying SLB at corner or Fortt at LB

He's quick, takes up space, and can probably give us 25 snaps a game as a rookie

You do know we ran majority 4-3 last year even before Rob Ryan got the boot but ok with Kikaha starting DA decided to put him in space terrible idea
