Bull crap, 'Guido. Hicks was never anything close to a "monster" and has had no more injuries then any typical player.

I said the amount of busts every year. That's referring to all teams. Meaning that just because a team selects a player, doesn't make it the right choice. As for last year's draft? Two didn't play, so who knows with them, and one (Davidson) barely played. And Peat was a pick I couldn't stand, and he did not look good. It's kind of dumb to use last year's draft as an example after one year. I'm hopeful for a lot of those players, but we haven't seen much of them yet.

48 games, 119 tackles 6.5 sacks.

Cam Jordan 47 games, 153 tackles, 23.5 sacks.

I am not going to say Hicks set the world on fire

Didn't he end '14 on IR? The monster label was from his teammates. If I remember right he was very solid in '13 then was hampered by an ankle though most of '14. The crap on him came out in '15. He had the talent, but I guess you're right. They missed that. That was probably a big reason for the house cleaning in the scouting department.

JR was a team captain

You're right. He looked so good at times. Too bad he was a psycho.

Of course they believe in him. That doesn't make them right. Just like I could be wrong... or right. He is nevertheless unproven. You seem to lack definition of certain words like "project" and "unproven". I don't care if the Saints have watched this guy sleep every night, eat in the morning, practice, take a dump and shower... Until you play somebody, you are unproven.

Myles Jack and Jaylon Jones were selected in the second round, despite the fact that they may never fully recover. Does that sound like teams doing homework, or hoping for the best? What's my point? You are naive if you think teams don't operate on gut feelings as much as film, when they see an athletic player.

Yes, after he had already proven he couldn't produce. Every year was hype, followed by nothing. As for cleaning house. It remains to be seen what that did. Too early to tell.

Sure they do. You can't hit a home run unless you give it a powerful swing. If they feel like he can be great then why not take the shot.
