That is not an honest assessment. we have like 35 million in dead money, I am going to go ahead and blame that. Drew is earning what every qb earns

Agreed. You forgot to add poor drafting and poor FA signings. Anyone who blamed Brees for this has very little knowledge of the game much less the business of football. All players get the maximum they can for the production on the field. Brees is no different. It's just what QBs like Brees get paid. People also forget he was grossly underpaid for his production prior to the contract.

Someone may want to look at other teams who have lests say less of a QB but can afford deep rosters of talent across the team. If you QB has a bad day - you lose. The other teams not so much.

Hell look at the teams who as of now ranked #1 in their divisions... all of them ranked #1 do not have a top teir QB. Even the Pats who have a 2nd and 3rd string starting ended up iwth a 3-1 record with out Brady.

So don't give me that personal attack about not knowing football - this is fact.

The Pats, Vikings, Broncos, perhaps the Eagles all have the blueprint for winning consistently in today's NFL - a talented, aggressive, well-stocked, well-coached defense. When you can stymie the likes of Aaron Rodgers like the Vikings did, you can afford to punt the ball and basically win by default.

If our Dome Patrol existed in today's game, we'd be a more dominant version of the Broncos.

The one thing all those teams do well is TACKLE! It's such a basic fundamental, yet our D doesnt do it well. It's like we'd rather get the big hit than make tackle. I'd be interested to see how many yards after touch we're giving up.
