Although Jordan is a good player, he is not a dominate player or has ever just taken over a game against solid tackles, my opionion of him is lower than yours. As far as trades go NE does it along with others. Ellerbe for Stills, Graham for Unger, it's not uncommon even for us. It may be meaningless but if we had a shot at getting Phillips or even Bradley we should, those coaches have proven track records. What does Allen have? I think we could and should do better at DC if we can now even more since the good ole boys were sent packing.
Remember this from just after week 13?

Highest-graded NFL edge defenders this season:

1. Khalil Mack, 92.5
t2. Cameron Jordan, 91.3
t2. Von Miller, 91.3
4. Brandon Graham, 90.7
7:05 PM - 6 Dec 2016

His value does not come from sacks alone. With a healthy Kikaha and/or another edge rusher on the opposite side his impact would be even greater. He simply does not have enough help.

Re: You're Sean Payton

If Allen were going, he would've been at the top off the laid-off list that blessed our morning. He's here with all that implies. Phillips isn't going to step down from DC just to run our linebackers. If the donkeys stupidly let him go, there's a line of teams who will grab him for the DC position. Lovie is an interesting name, but isn't he only going for head coaching positions? He's currently doing that at Illinois -Urbana Cham something. It does look like Singletary could be available though...

I'd be eye balling other coaching staffs such as Seahawks, Pitt, Dallas, NE. and pluck some of theirs...
