Addition by subtraction...I like cooks, he's a great WR. But he is gonna be wanting a big payday soon and I think Thomas is better for the team. The way I see it, better a 1st round pick and an upgrade to the other pick than to deal with the diva attitude he has began to display and the possibility that he walks away as a FA.

I don't think Cooks is the player a lot of you have him out to be.

Well at least he isn't the Saints problem anymore.

Ok let's cut all of this cooks was one dimensional crap out. He was a player that could basically do it all,and with his speed that was rare. There are only three players that had 1,000 yards, 75 catches and 8 touchdowns the last two years and he's one of them, Odell Beckham, and Antonio brown are the others. With that being said he's gone and we hear this talk about the defense again. Here's the real deal, they better get it right this time or they just wasted another draft (2014).

Meaning he is not our concern, worry, or having to deal with a substantial impending contract his agent will demand after the 2017 season. The Saints save money for the future, get a draft pick, get rid off a player that surprisingly opened his mouth after a win... good luck to him in NE though.

That's the whole reason for doing it. Moving him won't hurt our offense much, if any at all. The extra 1st rounder and the 15 place move up later helps to give us a better chance to improve the defense. Would I have liked more for him? Hell yeah, and so would Payton, but you take what the market offers and that was the best offer.
