Maybe they are working on Cover 2 a lot because that is what we are weakest at, but we need to be able to mix it in every now and then in game situations so we are not predictable and staying in man all game. Not worried about the square peg/round hole just yet.

Re: Saints secondary is aiming to be the strength of the defense
We have to see who he is making the plays against, right? Like making star studded plays against 2nd and 3 string qb and receivers is not as impressive as against the first string guys

I do like Moore and Banjo. Tough players for the secondary. Our secondary has played like crap a few years, hurt or not, still like crap, no depth to speak of, hopefully this changes.

Re: Saints secondary is aiming to be the strength of the defense
Perhaps Payton is using new approach. Instead of having players work through some of these minor issues he is letting them heal before putting them back out there ... at least during the preseason. A player could probably practice on a "tweaked" knee, but it could cause more issues.

Re: Saints secondary is aiming to be the strength of the defense
I've been really struggling to find a leap from Vonn Bell. Call me crazy but I think he's in real trouble, especially with Bush and Harris returning.
Just a gut feeling that he needs to put up or shut up right quick like. |
